The last week I have had my feet done, chilled a bit and done some walking in hand. TW has been giving Polly and Lyra quite a bit of attention which is rude I think. However today she managed to find time for me, Jez, Polly and Lyra which is most excellent. The others didn't mind at all, apart from bleddy Bracken for some reason. He needs to watch himself otherwise he will get himself ridden too! Ha! It was another surprisingly sunny day and there were even flies about. There are rumours going round that there will be snow soon though....
Anyhoo, in exchange for mints of the extra strong variety I alowed TW to pop on bored and we dondered up the track as far as the scary flappy poly tunnel thing. Then I agreed we could go past the poly tunnel and TW was super proud of me. Even though I was perhaps a tad nappy today it was a good plod I think. That hackamore thing seems to make us both a bit more relaxed which is good. Hopefully we will try and do some longer rides soon cos we need to get ready for some endurance rides.

hackamore
Sorry for not blogging yesterday! TW bogged off to the pub last night and had knicked my laptop charger so I was sans battery! What a loser. I had been a super duper super star yesterday too. TW found a purple hackamore in the shed and we squuezed into it and had a very non-nappy pootle. Plus some mints. Result!
Anyhoo, no riding today as TW couldn't get her butt out of bed early enough to do anything before trimmer time. I forgave her though as we had a lovely hay net to nom on and I was most perfect while I had my toes done too. Gold star for me!

lesson
Today we were thinking about doing a pleasure ride but TW said too soon maybe. So we thought about going up the trail. But TW said maybe we should get 100% at home first. Fair enough. So when Laura came today we agreed to practise riding up the track. In my rope halter. We went up and down and I napped a bit and we battled abit and do you know what? TW won. Couldn't feckng believe it. So we went up and down and turned and stopped and turned and stopped. TW was working hard I reckon cos I mostly wanted to run back to the others until I realised that she was in boss mode. I did get some extra stong mints though in exchange. They reckon I'm moving well at the moment and looking good. The lack of grass means I move better behind and I can turn easily both ways without my tum hurting.

interesting
So today was an interesting one. TW came up with her pack and chucked out the hay and said we might have a day off. Then she tacked the Poll up and took her for a walk in hand. WTF? I''m not playing that game so when they came back I made sure she took me for an inhand walk too. Up the track and down the road. Obviously I was perfect. Result. And a nice bowl of nosh when I got back.
Anyhoo, TW said we couldn't have extra hay yet and she would come back later and hopefully we would move about the field a bit in the meantime. We didn't of course and when she re-appeared with Boblet and the dogs we were patiently waiting by the fence. I did canter round to the other gate though to make a bit of an effort.
More hay and then the dawgs went for a wall and TW asked if I wanted to do a teeny bit of work for some extra strong mints? Why of course! So she popped on board and we did some bitless schooling in my rope halter as TW wonders if maybe bits are generally annoying me at the moment. I was certainly happier in my halter but obs we didn't go into the big field! Pah!!

Competition
Holy mother of god!! Things have been going so well. This morning TW came up with the dogs and we enjoyed some hay while the sun was coming up, TW said it was fab. I was just nomming tbh - I see it every day ffs.
Anyhoo, post hay I let TW catch me and brush me and tack me up while I nommed a tasty bowl of mash. Then supported by a pocketful of parsnips TW popped on board and we marched about the field and TW made me behave myself although we stayed in a safer zone than yesterday. LOL.
So 5 days out of 5, I was muchly chuffed. Had a nother bowl of mash and a nibble on a spare net and then went back out, feeling smug.
Next thing I see, Polly is getting her feet picked out and going for a walk up the track. WTF? She's been footsore for donkeys but the bugger was striding out all smart and well behaved. I couldnt fecking believe it! Then frikking Lyra jostles to the gate so TW catches her next and only goes and tacks her up in the snazzy purple numnah which was meant to be for me, saddle AND stirrups and my fecking leather girth! Off they tootled like she was used to being tacked up and walked all along the track, watched some traffic including a bus and did some in hand trotting on the way. And she was fecking perfect. FML.

Happy new year!
Today is the first year of 2019. That means I am 11 years old. Officially. No pressies for me though - gutted. TW did kind of dress up for me today though and had some silly red lipstick on although methinks that was a leftover from last night as she always wears that stuff that sticks around for ages.
Anyhoo, today was an interesting one. Lovely and sunny. I got some hay and then TW got me out of the field for some grub and a brush. Nae bother. I did strongly suggest that I needed some extra nut things though. She obliged.
Me, her, Boblet and the dawgs made our way into the big field and they fecked off and TW clambered onto my back in exchange for some nuts. Fine and dandy. Now riding in the field has not been accomplished for some time due to mud and mojo and other random shizzle. TW suggested it was a good option though rather than having a battle to get up the track. However I was feeling a wee bit fizzy on this fine morning and we walked, jogged and battled about a bit while TW sang me some songs. I just wanted to turn on a sixpence and razz back to the others but she said that was now allowed. Gah! Spoilsport.
Apparently I am being a tad strong at the moment and TW began to think that perhaps the hay dude's words about fizzy hay may indeed be correct. After a very strong attempt at a job she said if I wanted to trot then I could march up the hill and then trot until I was pooped which would be a very silly idea as we are not fit. So I shuck my head, jumped all 4 feet in the air and did a nice buck for a special effect. The bastard didn't even fall off she just twatted me on the neck and told me off. WTF? Then I tried to convince her she was scared but the fecker said I could go near the others but do more work. I couldn't frikking believe it. Fair play. So we marched about a bit more, dodging various things and ponies and then she made me march round the shelter and into the field again. Phew!
Then we marched back, tack off and I got another bowl of grub and some more hay. I was muchly impressed with TW despite her calling me some rude names. She also thinks that despite her fatness that I can obviously carry her weight with no problems given my shenanigans! Pah! Bring it on!

Three times a worrier
Woohoo three times on the trot (well not literally trotting ffs give me a chance I've only been out of the field 3 times in the last million years!!) we have had some ridden action. This means -
I have been a good lad and allowed myself to get caught
TW has some kind of brave underwear on
I have stood nicely for her to haul her butt on board
How good am I ? Today we did some riding with only a teeny bit of hay beforehand. TW says that means at the moment my guts are A-OK. We reckon the lack of grass this year has probably helped. I think that having a nice stable herd and a more relaxed TW helps muchly too tbh. And obviously I know best. I'm so pleased that we are using the leather girth again - no saddle slippage which means much less anxiety for both me and TW!
Anyhoo, today we decided that we would do a teeny bit of riding with the dawgs (and without Boblet) and TW wants them to come hacking with us eventually. The boy dog was a gob-shite as always. The new Pearl puppy was hilarious. She stood open mouthed whie TW popped on board and then went and clambered up the mud slabs - I think the wierdo was trying to make herself taller too! Lol. It didn't work. She then tried to run about and bark while me and TW were concentrating but we just threatened to run em down and they soon fecked off. We didn't do much today , just some pottering about and a few poles but TW was chuffed with me. I hope we manage to start hacking soon but not sure where we will go as TW doesn't like the roads near home.
