Teeth

Today was dentist day. TW arrived early again and was super pleased that I walked all the way to the stable with no stopping. Less sticky feet this morning. I had my nosh and usual routine and then TW trundled off for a few hours.

She re-appeared mid-morning followed soon after by a new tooth lady. She was nice. I was mostly a good boy. NTL was impressed by my huge tongue, TW wasn't impressed by me still having my wolfy teeth despite being reassured repeatedly they had gone by the old tooth dude. NTL got rid of my sharp bits and TW got more worried that I was getting stressed and might colic as I kept looking round at her.

Next it was Brackys turn. he screamed up a storm on his way to the yard and we all joined in, TW went a bit deaf. Brackys teeth were sorted too and he also did the looking round at TW thing! NTL says we just liked hugging TW. TW knows we just like stressing her out. It worked though as TW decided I was better off out in the field with Brack instead of standing in my bed for the rest of the day. Result!

the game

Today is Sunday. TW really didn't want to get out of bed early doors but she knows how important it is at the moment. Bee and me treated her commitment by looking over when she whistled on the drive as she was getting to the yard. That made her happy. Sadly when she finally arrived at the field to get me in and whistled. and shouted. and shouted again. We both totally ignored her. Such a great game! How we chuckled watching her huff and puff up the field with her snotty nose and runny eyes from the pollen!

TW is a sneak though, she went to Bracky-bee first as she had some new special ulcer friendly treats to try. Fenugreek flavour.

http://drdstastytreats.com/

The old bugger loved them and chased after TW as she came to catch me so she only gave my treat to him too!! WTF?

Anyhoo, in we trundled, I'm alot less sticky on the stones today. TW was pleased. So was I ! We stopped to have a little chat to another lady but that promptly ended when I decided to think about nibbling the muck heap! I nommed down my feed and TW picked out my hooflets - I didn't mind today and TW says they are becoming less flat already! Hooray. She wondered if my guts were a bit grumbly though as today I was looking over my left shoulder a bit when I was eating. Either that or i was just being nosey as there was some trailer action going on on the yard!!

We did a few stretches with the fenugreek sweets which are extremely delicious and did a few half hearted stretches. I'm surprised TW didnt lie down and doze off tbh! I wonder when we can start doing a bit more stuff?

Sunny saturday

TW really fancied a lie in today. But yesterday the rain was pouring down and this morning it is super sunny so she sensibly decided to get her butt moving and up to the yard. good plan.
The only problem was that my headcollar has gone walk about so she eventually bought me in with my big pink rope necklace. I was a very good boy and didnt try and bog off or anything :)

Back in my bed I nommed down my new supplements which was a relief as TW said they were very expensive! Slurped down the soup at the end and everything. Did a few carrot stretches - my head bends to the left all the time on the girffe stretch which needs sorting but TW said i did very well on the other ones and bent my head and neck all the way without moving my feet. She says my feet are starting to look better but my right shoulder is still sore. We had some cuddles and I was nice and chilled which is good.

TW had a letter from a horse communicator person this morning about me -

this is some of the stuff she said I told her

“ I most want you to know that improvements take time. I don’t like the shoe thing, it needs to be lower down.” I’m not quite sure where the last statement comes from, but he shows me what it refers to: a tall hoof stand, and in the image, Tommy keeps knocking it over when the farrier tries to put his hoof on it. Tommy also tells me he doesn’t mind having shoes on, it’s just having them trimmed that’s a problem. “The next thing is don’t take my food away when I’m still eating it.” This occurs when you want to take him out of the stable, and tell him that he can finish it when he comes in again. “I don’t want to go out straight away, I want to stay in and have a little bit of hay for after my carrots, then I am happy to go out and play and learn some new things.” Tommy’s ambition is to jump 4ft in a combination. He is very good at jumping, but has sometimes lost his concentration. He used to lose his balance, but that’s got better since he learned the half–halt. He likes show jumps, but prefers galloping fast on the flat, not over cross–country fences, though, just galloping. Although Tommy appreciates the need for schooling, he isn’t very keen on doing it: “It’s boring.” He seems to be unbalanced in trot, falling in on the left rein and stiff on the right. He most certainly unbalances if he is longed. He would benefit from groundwork lateral exercises that make him use his front and back end separately: turns on the forehand and around his hindquarters are a good start.

Tommy wants you to know that you worry about him too much. Instead of enjoying what you are doing; you are hoping you aren’t about to fail, or forget something. You shouldn’t try to be a perfectionist, then you would soon be perfect is Tommy’s opinion. Tommy likes being out with his friends, I expected a picture in a field grazing, but it’s at a competition or clinic of some sort: in a group of people riding in a lesson. “You learn a lot more that way and everyone tells you you are very good and will do well.” When he is home, he doesn’t seem to have one special companion but seems calm and settled in a field: there’s a grey horse in the distance, who he may look to for security and a bay horse — seems smaller than him — at whom he flattens his ears, to say keep away. In the stable, he is fine with his companions there, but wants to be out if they are gone. Tommy says he’s pleased with the new saddle, it has freed up his shoulder. His right shoulder was quite stiff until recently and is one reason why he didn’t like to lift his foot high to be trimmed. Leg stretching exercises would help him though, as would carrot stretches, as his forehand could still be freer. He still needs work to get him in balance and bring his hindlegs under him more, so plenty of trot work with upward and downward transitions will help once he has perfected the ground work to disengage his hind quarters on the corners. This exercise can also be used ridden, though aim to be able to use your weight and seat to get him to do it eventually; he’ll have to have a nudge from your boot or a flick from a schooling whip to teach him it ridden at first. Tommy says your riding position isn’t perfect, but you are not the fidget–bum that you used to be. The thing you need to correct most, is don’t tilt your head, always remember if you are not straight, your horse is not straight, so Tommy tilts his head too. As Tommy’s head is much heavier than yours, it a greater on his balance. He seems to tip his nose to the left, so you must be doing the same with your head tilted to the right slightly, as if you are looking at something on your left. Curiously, as he falls in on the left, his head looks straight as his head balances the fall inwards. On the right rein, the tilt in his head is more pronounced. If you straighten the tilt of your head, don’t forget to lift your right shoulder as well. Bring them up to your ears and then drop them down.

Day 3

Today is day 3 of the new regime. TW was tired this morning and it was drizzly wet. Bracky came and have her some cuddles though. He was trying to be nice. It just made TW worry about him too though!

In we trundled to the stable, I'm still stopping a few times but TW isn't sure if I'm stopping to be nosey or cos my tootises are sore. she says i seem a bit less grumpy but need to stop head butting her. whatever! I felt a bit better on the stoney stuff though. In my bed I nommed by food straight away with no looking round which made TW happy ( she's easily pleased at the moment I reckon) but I wasn't so keen to have my tootsies picked out. Some real big stones get in them on the way from the field. TW had forgotten my new gut poweder so I just had chaff , mint and fennel brekky. Nom, was good.

More carrot stretches - I was good at the left and right ones and ok at the down ones. I was awful at the pretending to be a giraffe one which made TW sad. I got better though with practice. she prodded my back a bit and rubbed my ears which was nice. Tomorrow is the weekend so maybe I will get extra carrots?

In

So we have a new routine. It started yesterday. In during the day and then out at tea time. Hmmm. Interesting. The stones on the track to and from the field hurt my feet and make me go slow. It's bleddy rubbish.

Yesterday ( Wednesday) I was uber slow on the track, not helped by the wierd alien poking its head up over the wall. I nearly shit myself! TW said it was Harry pony in a fly mask. Wierd fecking ninja pony more like. Did not like it.

I was nice and chilled in my stable though, TW picked out my feet and poked my back a bit and left me to munch.

Today ( Thursday) I was ready for the ninja. TW noticed that I didn't back off from my headcollar and wondered if maybe my headache was getting better. I was a tiny bit better on the track but still taking tiny little steps. I didn't stop as much though. In my bed we did some carrot stretches and did my hooves again. They still feel cool which is apparently good. It didn't feel so relaxing today though, not sure why. TW has stopped my equimins supplement and has ordered some expensive forage plus stuff which has linseed in it. Nom. She says maybe I should stay in my stable all night too. She's not sure what to do for the best. I don't know about that - I like moving about with my friends.

Crocked

Me and Bee moved yards in May, it's a bigger yard and surprisingly nice. We have a lovely herd, and nice girl neighbours. All the ladies on the yard have been commenting on how handsome I am and how chilled me and Bee are as a pair.

TW and me had started making some plans for getting going again. It was exciting!! The roads are quieter round here and we have an indoor and outdoor school (hmmm!), a lesson was booked and TW had been in touch with peeps to make hacking plans - than feck it's been ages! Last Monday we even had our first teeny tiny pootle together, of course I was a good boy.

The problem is that I'm probably not that well at the moment, everything hurts and is stiff. The trimmer noticed a bit so we had the physio out. The physio noticed a bit more and did some treatment. TW sat down and thought a while and realised that she noticed a whole lot of stuff that she hadn't put together (5 pages of stuff!).

Yesterday I had the vet out. He bought his bird with him. They were both nice. TW was sad and stressed. My pulses are very slightly raised in my feet and I'm super stiff. Far too stiff for a 7 year old. Rubbish. Stiff neck, tight shoulders, tight glutes and tight back. I didn't like my neck being treated so that has to wait til next time. wierd considering I have regular treatments and have only been ridden once in last few months.

TW felt guilty, she couldn't find my pulses. She thinks it all started when we moved from Bradmoor last year and I colicked. Maybe she is right. I just want to feel better so we can start getting out again. I have three weeks of gut medicine and carrot stretches and trying to get my tootsies feeling better. Wish us luck.

sausage

The weather is definitely getting warmer and milder. It means the grass is growing. Finally. Tw made a flying visit yesterday with the rabble. This morning she arrived with the monsters but no Blblet as he was finally being allowed a lie in. Bravo TW!

When she got to the field me and the Bee were nomming the haynet in the sunshine. So she headed of round the field with the dogs to exercise their stumpy little legs. And her stumpy little legs. Ha! When they came back she tied the pig to the caravan and got about her stuff while the crazy girls rampaged around.

Today was turn Brack back into a sausage day. And frankly I was impressed by the fact that he let TW catch him, tie him up in the field and put his sausage costume on and rub fly stuff on him all with no fuss at all. Jeez. he is chilled at this home! I was also impressed with TW for being somewhat more organised than previous years. She even said Brack can probably have a new sausage outfit when she has some pennies. Which will be nice as there ain't anything sweet about that boys itching I can tell you.

Next it was my turn for some scratching. Neck only again but I did et her feel my feet as she said she had nasty nightmares last night about me having lammi ffs. Wierdo. I also kept encouraging her to look at the nice fields behind our field but apparently she didn't quite get what I was trying to say. Dumbass. After the scratches I wondered off and then skillfully demonstrated my trotting down hill in the field moves to show that there is feck all wrong with me. But also suggested I'd quite like a new saddle anyway. And a new thermatex. We shall see.....

Zen

Sorry I've been quiet this week! I've been under strict orders by TW to rest as she's been worried about me. So I've spend most of the week bucking and charging about the field. And had a physio appointment. I think the consensus at the moment is that I have sore feet. That better not been restricted grass!

Anyway I've seen TW a few evenings which is nice. And started new thunderbrook chaff which is lovely. Today TW appeared without the rabble and I was very pleased to see her. We had some lovely itches and I got told off for being bossy as I only wanted my neck itching. TW left me in the end as she said I was getting too big for my boots. Off she went and down the field, got herself comfy cross legged on the floor and closed her eyes to relax.

I stood at the top of the field watching her. She is a wierdo. I could see her breathing slowly and trying to focus. I also knew she had one thought wondering what I was doing. Bad TW, focus on your breathe! When i was convinced she was being nice and mindful I trotted as quietly as I could down the field right behind her, slammed on the brakes and grabbed her hat! Oops, apparently this isn't nice! She laughed and closed her eyes again. I grabbed her hat again. This went on until she realized that maybe  I was right and eyes open is much better. We did some chilling and grazing and even Bee strolled past to say hi. It was lovely in the sun. Somehow we missed the eclipse though. Wierd.

WTF?

Today Bracky nearly got his ass kicked.

Everything started off fine. TW and the minions with Boblet arrived. Then Jiggys mum turned up so TW thought it was a good time to see how I was feeling. All good. Boblet and the doglets went to play in the field and TW ran me up and down to see if there was any sign of soreness. On the fla grass field everything seemed good , maybe a teeny hint of an ouch on my right front at one point but very very mild. TW however was pooped. HIlarious. I got to have a little sneaky graze and then we all realised that Bracky and Seb were tearing about like a couple of hooligans!

Back we headed to the field, I wasn't sure about going in. Which was bad enough. I probably would have pissed TW off a bit but Seb took the chance to escape out of the field and run off. Hahaha! Cheeky barsteward. He shot off to the cows bit, munching grass and chasing Iggy Piggy as he went.

I ended up back in my field and me and Bracky razzed around in disgust. And then it happened. Fecking Bracky mounted me! OMFG! TW stood opened mouthed! Jiggys mum thought it was hilarious. Then the old bogger bucked off round the field. Stupid little pretend stallion.

TW and JM tootled off and JM caught stoopid Seb and chucked him back in with us. He was shattered too! Me and Bee got on the haylage and TW moaned a bit while Boblet took pics. Just a usual Sunday then. And guess what? It was windy.

loads

I've seen TW alot this last week which is lush. She's worrying about me though so we've not done much but have scratches and kisses. Today she sat in the field with me while the wee muscley dog ran about and barked. Twat. I think TW is buying me nice new foods on the t'internet and I reckon if I'm really sneaky I could get a new saddle out of her too. And maybe a thermatex to go with it? Hmmm could be fun. She tried to figure out which leg was sore today but given the field is slopey and slippy it wasn't easy. My white foot is all red and bruised though. I think I will be having a phsyio check soon. Lets hope it sorts me as I cba with a vet trip :(

snuggles

The weather is getting sunny and the days are getting longer. TW and the rabble came to visit me tonight after work , the first time since we have moved house. I was lovely. we had some snuggles and kisses and she picked my tootsies out and sprayed them with tea tree. She gave my legs a check and realised that my legs are so hairy its hard to notice anything. It was nice to see her though, I hope they come up lots now. Iggy was crying so she had to leave and take him off to join the girls and Boblet who were playing in the field.

I stood and watched them and relaxed over my stable door. before they went a van arrived and two men started dropping off broken tiles and things on the floor. It was so noisy. I hated it. TW giggled to herself and muttered something about men who look like they own coloured coblets or something. wierdo.

sore tootsies

I was out in the field nomming haylage with Bracky when TW, Boblet and the hounds arrived. The lunatic and the wee muscley dog were tearing around like crazy being proper dafties. The pig was on his big lead tied to the caravan. Ha!

In I came which was nice. There was tack everywhere. Including my new bright pink cordura thing. Fantastic! I had my treeless on and was going to go bitless too but TW got it all in a jumble. Pillock. She said we were just having a little one as she wanted to see if i was ok.

Off we set in a nice relaxed walk, she is getting much better at keeping the reins long which is nice. Up the track and then into the field. Walking nicely but every time we had a teeny trot it just wasn't quite right. TW said I feel a tiny teeny bit off and slower than normal. It made her feel sad,  I'm ok though.

Back at the stable Boblet had a look at my legs. He thinks one is slightly more swollen than the other one, TW thinks its the opposite leg with an abscess brewing as my coronet band is a bit warmer. In the field she made me trot a bit and it was just a teeny tiny bit noticable. I did a nice canter though. I think I'm going to have a little rest for a week and see how I get on. I hope I'm ok soon as we were just starting to get back on track.

sunny

Good lord TW was up bright and early today. Just like she use to be. That was nice. We had a good groom , tea tree on my tootsies as one was a bit thrushy, then tack on and off we went.

As we started off I was in two minds, the wind was blowing and the donks leccy fencing was scary as always. I started to back up. Tw laughed and said "well all this time you're wasting and you could be grazing at the top while we wait...". I didn't need telling twice. Nice long rein, lovely and relaxed off we stomped.

Up at the top I settled down for a graze. TW and I had a slight disagreement over where i was allowed to graze and as I turned round she accidentally kicked the back of my leg. OOF! I jumped all four feet off the floor. TW tutted. sorry!

Eventually Monty appeared along the road and off we pottered, all was going well until I think I stood on a stone. Ouch :( It really hurt. Today we did the short road loop. It was really hilly. I alternated between striding out really relaxed and then being sticky and slow. Tw was stressed and confused. She's not sure if it was the stone or the wormer in the week or my new food or the grass growing or a million other things. It was still a nice hack though.

When we left Monty TW thought that maybe it might be a good idea to get off me. I told her not to bother and stomped off, head in the wind taking us both home safely. She was very grateful. We had another trot and I seemed fine again. TW was a bit more relieved. I got to have a nice graze down the track and ignored the daft shitland who appeared to have escaped.

I went straight to the field and had a lovely roll. TW was so impressed I was flinging myself all over the place. Then i settled down to some serious sunbathing and mooching with the Brack.

Mid afternoon I was chilling and catching some rays when I heard a male voice shout me. and whistle. I ignored it. Then a female voice and whistle. Good lord TW and Boblet and the lunatic had walked over to see us. Awesome. we had some nice scratches and cuddles and then they left. Rubbish. I really wanted them to stay.

Carrots

Sorry I've been so quiet this week, TW has been on training in Birmingham and decided that she needed my laptop to do work in the evenings. How rude is that?

Anyhoo, the weather is starting to be milder I think. I've spent most of the week rolling and scratching which has been nice. I was looking forward to a 7am pootle with TW but the lazy arse couldn't get out of bed. Nobber! She appeared half way through the morning half dressed smart and half fleecy pants. Very attractive I think. Ha!! She gave me a few carrots and some good scratches, Bracky wanted some too but I blocked him right out. Sorry dude. TW says soon she will win the lottery and we can see loads of each other. She best hurry up!!

Itchy

Today was a sunny day. But really freaking windy. TW bowled up to the yard with Boblet and the ratbags and promptly tied the Pig to the caravan so she could see to me. Excellent. It might have been a nice day for riding but the field was far more inviting. Out we went, through the mud and before TW could shut the gate thing I was down on the floor. Rolling. In all the mud. It felt fabulous!

She tootled off with the pig and they all had a play in the field. They are so weird chasing after tennis balls. Poor Iggy piggy has to stay on his big long lunge line for being a fecking cow chasing barsteward (so Boblet says). TW did let him off briefly while they tired him out on the hill. heheheh, chubby puppy. I bet he would write an interesting blog!

After the pups were pooped ( well Iggy was pooped and Boblet was too cold) they all trooped into the caravan and TW came back to give me some cuddles. I followed her about the field a bit and she was really chuffed until she realised I was doing the face pulling behind her back again. Oops! Then I got chased round ( not really as she's about as fit as Iggy piggy) and we got down to some nice muddy scratches. My fur is starting to come out, spring must be on its way. Apart from the fact that the gritters were out at bed time. FFS.

Glow in the dark

More drizzly mizzly weather today. No turnout. Thank god for huge stables and big nets of haylage. I'd rather be out today though its really mild.

TW bowled up with Boblet and the Lunatic about 10ish which was nice. I fancied some scratches, TW fancied trying my new bridle. In the rain. And wind. Bitless. Fabulous.

The new bridle is so bright and pink it should glow in the dark. TW loves it ( Mr Stuart made it) and to be fair it is super soft. I shut my eyes while she put it on to ignore the brightness. Neither of us could tell if she got it on the right way or not but it felt good. The flower hackamore thing is wierd though.

As soon as she got on she regretted it. Head down and nom nom nom. Boblet didn't know where to look. Some negotiation followed which didn't involve the sticky coming out of the car and off we trundled, nice and relaxed. TW was impressed. She wanted me to follow Boblet but the Lunatic lagged behind so that didn't work. And when they did come past us TW soon realized that maybe I was going to follow them and not listen to her. oops!

We practised stopping and starting , all good. Boblet said "are you going to go round the field?", TW replied " no thank you darling" or something to that effect that included lots of F type words, laughing and general rudeness about my inability to respect a flower on my nose in a wide open space. We had a little trot or two, all good. Boblet and the lunatic went and hid in the caravan and we had another go, even better said TW.

Then I got to graze and went back to my stable. i wanted lots of scratches. TW gave me a few and then went. Bleddy rude.

Twice

It was sunny today. How awesome is that? Out with the Brack-man and Seb. Seb is wierd though, he just stands by the fence eating the hay nets and neighing to go back in. Me and Brack on the other hand spend the day mooching about and grazing cos no matter what other people say there is grass to be had.

I was having a nice relaxing nibble on the green stuff at lunch time when I heard a shout. Dear lord I nearly had a heart attack and jumped a mile in the air! Goddamn TW standing at the fence looking cheery. I didn't run over to her immediately, me and the Bee just stood looking haughty and glaring at her but later on when she had sorted out my new cupboard we went over and had some cuddles which was lovely. She can't work out how Bracky is so rotund while I'm getting thin. I didn't tell her that the cows let him out every night and he stuffs his thelwell chops with lovely long grass before heading back again early doors. Wee barsteward.

Anyhoo, after a lovely day in the field TFO got me and put me in my stable. Holy mother of god there was a huge wooden monstrosity in there. It was fecking terrifying. I snorted and sniffed and stomped about. And then I got my feed and promptly forgot all about it. Ha! and blow me if TW didnt appear again with Boblet and the heathen hounds in tow. Which was amusing as TFO had her hounds from hell with her. Game on! Sadly TFO's terrorists seem to have realised that the Staffiosa plus Luna pup are lean mean fighting machines so there was no blood shed. Bracky was most disappointed.

I got some snuggles with TW while Iggy-piggy got tied to the caravan and then off they all tootled. It was light til nearly 6pm tonight too. Now that is frickin amazing.

RIP

TW didn't manage to make it up to see us today. She had a funeral to go to. Her lovely Auntie Maur passed away recently from nasty cancer and everyone went to pay their respects. I had never met Auntie Maur as she had given up on seeing TW on horses after she watched a lesson when TW was little. I think it was yet another occasion when TW fell off , landed on her head and had concussion. It happens quite regularly. Its a shame as I would have liked Auntie Maur and I'm sure she would have liked me.

Fortunately TW managed to spend time in church without bursting into flames so I'm sure I will see her soon.

nibbles

TW popped up to see us again this morning but didn't have time for riding as she had been drinking tea in bed with the dawgs before heading out for lunch with ZM! Bleddy goon! She really needs to get her priorities right I think.

She grumbled about a bit as I was in my stable again staying away from the mud. We had some cuddles and scratches and then we had a donder about while I nibbles some bits of grass. The fuzzy shitland pony saw me and did a dance to get my attention but I ignored it. TW is obsessed with grass at the moment and comparing fields hehehe its funny. There were bleddy flies everywhere too! Good lord!

happy birthday

Happy birthday TW!

Its been a big soggy again so I had to stay in my stable this morning. It was also baltic and super windy. TW arrived mid morning looking cold and confused. She couldn't find her hat, then couldn't undo the bolt so Jiggys mum had to help her and then she lost my girth. It's not helped by the fact she still can't find her glasses hehehe.

Anyhoo, eventually my tack was on ( back to the treed saddle) and we braced ourselves against the wind and strolled up the track to wait for Jiggy. Up the road , met up and off we went. Windy windy windy.

TW thought maybe i was a bit sluggish again, I think it's cos im starving! I could do with a bit of that big bale of hay nonsense that I use to have! Nom. We pootled along then a car sped at us really fast. TW gestured to slow down, he just waved and sped on. TW and JM did a synchronised sticking up of their fingers at him. Such classy birds!!

We strolled up the cliff path and round some tracks. Down roads and tracks and bridlepaths and round about. It was lovely, nice and relaxed. Poor Jiggy wondered why we were so slow I reckon - he wants to try lugging TW round for a change. 2 1/2 hours we pottered about , got sleeted on and rained on and every now and again I managed to get a cheeky nibble of grass. Yum. TW thinks my tootsies might be a bit sore too. Loads of worrying for her to do!

Eventually we got back to the yard and I had some nibbles and some kisses and scratches. TW had a quick chat to Brack too and while she wasn't looking the bleddy cows tried to trash my tack! Feckers!

bleddy cold

it was bleddy cold this morning. TW came up with the wee muscly dog and debated having a wee pootle but she felt on balance that she would prefer to have time for sausage sarnies and cups of tea with Boblet. Fair enough. Have I mentioned it was baltic?

We had lots of scratches and cuddles in the field while the wee muscly dog ran about being a nob. Talking about nobby dawgs I think there was a dog related incident at the yard even earlier than TW's arrival. Tut tut I wouldnt never behave like that....Bracky on the other hand...well who can say?

After we had some snogs TW headed off for a walk with Seb and his mum who were practising their bitless shizzle. I might get my bitless groove on again soon, especially now spring is nearly here.

Boss

Today was interesting. I was meant to be having an early fast hack but the wee muscley dogs slave ( aka Boblet) let the new puppy into bed at 5am. So TW was on a go slow. And then she sped up so we were back on for the hack!

It was icy cold at the yard but the fast one turned me out in my rug. And then tried to stone Sebs owner to death. Or something. Thats a bit mean I thought. TW arrived and back in I came and got down to some serious haylage nomming while TW inhaled rescue remedy like it was going out of fashion.

TW said we could try the new old saddle again today. So we got dressed up, TW jumped on and we strolled up the track. TW has lost her glasses btw. So she didnt notice the fire behind the hedge. I did though! Took a few minutes to convince me to get past that bugger.

Met up with Jiggy and off we went, feeling good and had a nice natter. Had a few jumps at nobby eejits but all was good. On to the bridlepath, I had a bit of a cheeky trot. Oof. Not sure everything felt ok. Tried to have an official trot behind Jiggy and something felt wrong. Jiggys mum said I wasn't lame, TW thought it was the saddle. Bugger! Said hi to the deer and pootled a bit further. Stopped and looked at TW. Time to head home methinks. Jiggy went one way and we went the other. Now lets see how brave we are!

Back past the deer no bother. back down the steep bridlepath. TW got off and we walked together, I tried to push her off the cliff edge but she told me off. HA! At the bottom she popped on a wall and got back on. Fine by me. We crept along the road with TW wondering whether I was ok to be ridden.

At the main road she was going to get off and walk but we decided to have a little go and see how we got on. She was so nervous. It was ok though cos I looked after. Off I strolled past the butcher and the crazy house, past the parked cars and dodging drivers. TW sang some songs and I suggested we could always walk on the wrong side of the road on the path if she was that scared. She said not though. Rude!

Eventually we got back to the track to the yard so TW jumped off. It was the longest road work we had ever done on our own. She said she was so proud. So I spooked at the fire and nearly knocked her over. Oops! She still let me have a munch on some grass though before chucking me back in the field. Good job Im the boss.

sleepy

It was rainy today on the hill in Derbyshire. That meant a day in bed for me nomming on haylage. Bracky mooched about the field on his own-some chatting to the friendly cows and occasionally shouting to me and Seb. TW was sulking at work again as she hadn't won the lottery. No luck!

Mojo hunting

TW has decided that she hates work and mostly would like to spend her time riding and walking the dawgs ( and eating cake says Bracky-pants!). Sadly as she is neither rich or likely to be rich this isn't an option. Rubbish! It would be nice to get all fit and fast again like we were in 2013.....

TW says it would be great to do a 20LS this year...hope she gets herself fitter first! Jeez!

the sunshine

Today the sunshine returned. It was awesome.I got to go out in the field with Bracky-pants and Seb for some mooching and rolling and snoozing. Sadly TW didn't arrive today, oh no she was back at work. Feeling very grumpy and sorry for herself no doubt while we enjoyed what might be the start of spring.

TW was keen to check we were out in the field after a few days in the big stable so she checked with the full livery lady AKA the fast one. Stupidly TW put far too many kisses on the text message (8 and counting) so lord knows what the fast one thought. Bracky thought it was bleddy hilarious, he's such a meany. Hahahaha!!!! Little does he know that TW has been thinking about letting Bracky try the new old treeless saddle. Now that would be worth watching! i wonder who could ride him.....

Working from home...

Another pishy squishy muddy day. In my new life this means standing in my mahoosive stable munching haylage and chatting to Seb while Bracky-pants splodges about in the field shouting. It's mostly good. We are a bit posh since we moved and have a full-livery arrangement going with the nice dudes up the road. It works fine although "ethically" TW is unsure how she feels about it. Bracky says she is a posh bint nowadays what with her freelander and all. I don't agree. She still looks like a scarecrow most of the time.

Anyways I was having a lovely snooze this lunch time when all of a sudden TW and the wee muscley dog arrived. Wowzer! She had a new old new saddle with her, treeless thing apparently. On it went, fit quite nice so we both had a shot of the new rescue remedy shizzle and got ready to rumble.

I didn't nap today , it was all nice and chilled ( nom rescue remedy boozey juice). Even though TW's stirrups were far too long and she was ripe for flinging in the mud, we just had a nice pootle up and down the track while the wee muscley dog ran about sneezing. Dumbass. We saw a robin which TW always likes and had a slip about in the mud. Then I got to graze for a while by the car while TW shouted abuse at TWMD. Hilarious.

Then it was back to my haylage for a quick kiss and sadly no more boozey juice. I quite like the new old saddle thing though. I've put a few pics here today so you can see how I've changed since I came over from Ireland as a 4 year old. I'm 7 now. TW says thats a great age.

Here I go again

Well it's certainly been a long time..... Frank has been off living the high life with his lovely new owner for nearly a year now. TW tried her hardest to get shot of the Brack but he is the eternal bad penny and kept coming back so she eventually gave up. We all moved house and are now living in Derbyshire which is lovely.

2014 was a quiet year for riding. 2015 is apparently going to be different. We have 6 weeks until our first NS ride and neither me or TW are remotely fit. Now as we know one of us will get fit fairly easily, the other well that is a completely different story!

Today we had a pootle about in the mud. It was all good. The fog gave me enough of an opportunity to pretend to be a little bit scared, the noisy old tractor was just noisy enough to allow me to be on my toes and when I spotted Seb and his owner mooching back to the yard it would have been rude if I hadn't bogged off across the field wouldn't it? Sadly TW was having none of it and gave me a mahoosive guilt trip and said she was DISAPPOINTED in me. Good Lord! It seems that it is indeed game on once more!
