WTF
WTF is going on with this weather? This morning it was frozen solid every where and baltic. By tea time it was 10 degrees and pishing down with rain. TW only came early today. She didn't stop long but we got extra hay and it was a nice light morning. I reckon it's going to be a lovely summer to make up for this absolute shite winter. I can't remember being so wet for so long since we had the bleddy awful wet summer in Bradmore.

emergency!
The weather is shite again and the fields have all gone back to mush! TW was not impressed this morning as me, Brack, Mikka and Lyra were in the paddock with the hole in the fence pretending not to be able to get out. And we might have trashed it. Oops! Things got worse when she counted the hay bales and realised we were going to be struggling soon. So we called a state of emergency and made her email the new hay dude who promptly replied and said he will re-stock us on Sunday! Good work!

fresh as a daisy
So last night TW text the dentist lady and asked if I was allowed to be ridden. She said YES! Now ordinarily that wouldn't been much as TW is a lazy daisy but today the sun was shining and I was more than happy to get my tack on. I do need a change of girth though due to my excellent winter weightloss.
Anyhoo, TW said we would ride in the field while the others nommed the hay and I was mostly obliging. TW was worried about my mouth so tried to ride with a nice long relaxed rein so I took advantage a bit and did some sprightly walking about . I didn't nap though and TW said I was a good lad. I maybe tried to bog off back to the others a wee bit but I don't think that counts. I think she was pleased with me. She's booked me onto the physio workshop thing and the endurance clinic too and maybe I will get out for a pre-op ride or two, just the short ones. I think I'm getting some equidgel too even though TW isn't sure about the alfalfa.
After I had been ridden, Jezey had a turn and she was a very good girl! Gah! That Polly-pocket has her eye on being ridden too. Bleddy girls!

sicknote
FFS I can't believe it! While the weather has been bad TW has been looking for rides and clinics and stuff for us to do. She had found an endurance training day for me and a physio day for both of us and decided that we were going to aim for a 20miler. Boblet is sorting out the tyre issue on the box and then we would be good to go.
So today the vet dentist lady visited. I had seen my dentist 2 weeks ago but she referred me to this new lady who was hopefully going to sort out my poorly fractured toothypegs. I kicked up a bit of a fuss when TW tried to catch me as I was nomming hay but eventually I came in for a big jab of dopey drugs. Nice. The lady had a good look at my teeth. She said that the fractures were not good and that she couldn't fix them. TW was sad. The vet lady explained that some horses just have wee holes in their teeth which make them prone to fracturing and sometimes the fractures are easy to sort. Mine are not. She suggested that I go to horsepital and see a visiting specialist who will do the operation for me and get my teeth better. My heart sank. TW agreed and gave me lots of cuddles. So did Boblet.
Afterwards I shuffled outside and went back to sleep while the lady did Polly arabs teeth. Then I shuffled down to the field and stood by the gate feeling sorry for myself. TW gave me some nice kisses and Boblet gave me some more scratches. It feels very unfair.

Seriously?
TW says she is fecking knackered from dragging water tubs to the yard. Well quite frankly we are all fecking thirsty. The yard tap better defrost soon or we are all going to shrivel and die and TW is going to turn into the incredible hulk with super strong muscles.
Anyhoo I've decided that I'm off out with SE gain this year so made it my job to push Jezey out the way at every opportunity and to give TW kisses. TW said I'm a nob as Jezey is going out with EGB anyway. That horse box best not let us down then or there will be big trouble. And TW best not lose weight and get Polly-pocket out this year or there will be real fisticuffs I reckon.
The best thing about today was that the rain never came. Although that might at least give us something to drink.

Drink
I cannot believe that it is still so fricking cold!! TW was in a right state today, taps still frozen, walking down through snow drifts, getting her car stuck in the snow. So I decided to make everything better by letting her know I was really thirsty and suggesting that a lack of water might lead to a wee bit of colic. So 6 hours later and three visits later we had all drank enough to last us til tomorrow!
The hay we have at the moment is really wierd. Nice but inconsistent. Very odd. But tbh as long as we can keep eating it doesn't really matter. It's a big old full moon tonight so we are going to manifest some warm weather for the rest of the month to save TW's poor old red face!

shut down
Snow keeps falling, everywhere is pure white. Today the wind got going too, pure baltic. We managed to get 6 bales of hay out of TW today. I don't remember it ever being this cold, Brack-man says it's been a long time. All we can do is just eat hay and huddle together. When TW visited for the second time today I was stood with my bum to the wind asleep. TW says it looks like I am shutting down and just surviving. There's no spare energy for owt else. Me, Jez and Brack were remembering when we had hotel barn to go in when the weather was bad. That was lush. I reckon we need a new hotel barn but one that we can come and go as we please. Boblet drove TW both times today as the roads are apparently really bad. She's not sure what will happen tomorrow as we need water bringing up as the taps still frozen. She keeps saying it will be better soon but I'm not sure she believes it at the moment.
