Today is Sunday, the day of rest. TW arrived at the yard about 6am and I was lying down having a lovely snooze. That worried her, especially as I took absolutely ages to get up. However I wasn't nippy or grumpy or overly bothered about being touched when we finally met in the field. I took my drugs and had the now regular gacky medicine moustache going on.
We had our brekky and then me and Jez lined up at the gate to be let though onto the long grass. It didn't happen. Instead TW bought us more hay and said we were going out. She got all my stuff ready, water, feed, haynet, tack and then gave me another feed this time with equishure in it. 2 feeds in an hour. Bargain. as a reward I let her groom me all over with no grumps and pick out my feet and put on my fly spray. Perfect boy. The others were not impressed that I was off out!!
After some grazing down the track my bus appeared. A nice big red bus. I was very impressed, got straight on and then chilled for an hour while we drove to Thoresby. at the other end I chilled some more, nibbled some grass and even had another tiny muesli feed. TW says empty tummies are not good for ulcer boys. I could get use to this!
Tack on, TW on and off we bimbled through the car park. I could hear a noise that made me wary and as we turned the corner I had a wee spook at a man, the saddle slipped so I ran for my life. TW hit the deck right on some nice stones. So i ran a bit further onto the nice soft grass for a graze. TW was hurt. She felt like a big eejit as lots of peeps came to help her so she laughed a bit and pretended she was ok and linked back to the horsebox so the transport man could have a good giggle at her. She changed my girth, got back on and then he did it up even tighter and off we went again. This time we were more cautious. TW was nervous but we saw an old friend on a new horse with another horse and we did the first 5 minutes together and then TW let them trot off. I was a bit bothered. But not much.
Off we pootled following blue arrows and occasionally getting a bit shouty and joggy when a few horses past us. TW was getting tense but she eventually figured out the answer. Treats! So every so often I got a nice minty treat and we pootled along on a nice buckle length rein. I love Thoresby.
We followed blue arrows and then orange arrows. That stressed me out a bit cos I thought we were going wrong. Then we did red arrows in reverse. TW was unsure. This made me unsure. So I kept stopping a bit and pooing. This worried TW even more. But soon we got back on the orange and then blue arrows and we knew were correct so we pottered on.
as we started heading back I sped up a bit and did a few shouts. Right near the end I saw my old friends Raf and Tess and then the Lucy's passed us too! It was really nice to be back seeing nice people again. Before we knew it were were back at the car park and TW got off and made me muesli soup. Lush. Four feeds before lunch time! Then it was back home, TW let me take myself to the field cos she was limping so much so I kindly went and hid! Hahahah!
Anyhoo, back in the field there was still no grumpiness and I was still happy to be brushed all over. TW was super relieved. When she came back at tea time i did a nice whinny to her and guess what - she fed me again with my last lot of equishure! after 24 hours of not being stabled I was still chilled and enjoying the attention. Loving being back out!
