TW tricked me this morning, she came and poo picked and vanished. I thought it was a day off. It wasnt. Off we went in the box to a place called Catton Park. It was a long way away. But it was sunny. And as always the people were friendly.
I settled down for a graze and then me and my chums Quinn and a new gal called Lady ( who came from the same place in Ireland as me) set off for the 10 mile pleasure ride. I wanted trot, so off we set, nice and jaunty. A lovely big grassy hill spread in front of us.....off I zipped. Gah! Nearly got away witht the 20mile ride! Next time!
At the beginning it was all a bit hectic so after a few fast bits we decided to just mostly march along. I was good at that. Lady and Quinny are a bit more argumentative I think. At one point we saw the most stressed out mare EVER having a proper paddy. I think it was the flies. They were NOT nice.
My stupid numnah slipped right back again today. TW jumped off and sorted it out. Then we all had a tussle while TW hauled her fat butt back onto the saddle. Sorry guys!! The last part of the ride was on a huge cross country course. We had a paddle in the water complex which was lovely on my tootsies. Before long we were back at the box, 11.5 miles in 2hs 15 not bad considering we walked most of it and had a stop for the saddle issue. It was a lovely course, loads of lovely verges. Next year I would like to do the longer route I think.
After a quick rest at the box we headed back home , quick grub then off to the field. In the field I impressed TW with some lovely rolls and super marching about to show her how nicely I was still moving. Ten rug on and back to the hay with the boys. Lush.
Sounds like a really lovely day.
