5 years

Today is the 5th anniversary of me moving to be with TW. It was pishing down on that day when I moved to Bradmore and spent a cosy night in the stable. Today it was pishing down and I spent the day in the field all soggy with my gang. But that's ok. Although an occasional deep straw bed would not go amiss......

Anyhoo, I reckon TW is lucky to have me. I've taught her alot and we've done loads of good stuff together including riding at a race-course, hunting, jumping, dressage and endurance stuff. We've had a quiet couple of years recently but that's ok cos everyone needs time to chill now and again. I was hoping for a new horsebox and a thermatex for my anniversary present but it's not arrived yet. Hopefully it's on order!

washed away

Lordy the rain has been hammering down. After a few good days of pootling about and trying to teach TW how to clicker train us the weather got wet and we went crazy.

The shelter men arrived this morning and we set about bucking, rearing and mostly twatting about. All led by the piaffing shetland. She was on fire!! Then TW got worried about Jez and tried to put her muzzle on her but wierdy Mikka wanted it on cos she knew there was a mint reward at stake. WTF? Wierd wierd ginge. Jez had it on eventually. She was not happy. TW felt really sad but said it had to be done. And then we all lined up to nip Jez cos we knew she couldnt nip us back. Ha!

TW came back in the evening with Boblet and the dawgs and we went to see her and investigate the new shelter. We all crowded round so TW got in and Lyra followed her. Brave baby. Then Brack and Dilly set about trying to trash the shelter by rubbing on it really hard and Mikka stalked TW some more in case there were treats around. There weren't.

skips and clicks

Bright and early this morning a dude arrived at the yard. He had a huge shiny red truck with a rattly skip on the back. He sat and waited for a while cos TW was late (or he was early she says) and then dumped a skip by the trailer and fecked off super quick. I have never seen TW so excited EVER!! She got busy chucking stuff in from all over the yard. We mostly ignored her. She opened the gate so we could come up for a nosey but we just nommed. Too early and too warm for that shizzle.

Anyhoo, after mucho trashing stuff the bugger only came into the field for me. I made a slight dodge but when the "I have mints" line again was used I caved super fast. The girls sneered at me, apart from Mikka she loves grub more than me.

So tack on and TW on and this time we headed off with no napping at all. We focused on staying nice and calm and we made our way further down the field today. TW was very impressed. I mostly loved my mints. The flights were fecking shite though so after a few little trots by the water she popped off and sprayed me with tea juice.

Later on she came back with the dawgs and a bum bag. TBH she looked like a right wierdo so we all ignored her. Until she shook the bumbag. The next thing the arabs were on her like flies on poo getting clicks and treats. WTF? I eventually got em all out the way and spent the next ten minutes trying to figure out to get a click and a treat. It was bleddy hard, my brain hurt. Lyra walked over and touched the pedestal and got a click and a treat and then mostly through herself about and tried to stamp on the dawgs while I tried to get what TW wanted me to do. Eventually I got into a nice pattern of nose to the thing and then I got loads of treats. Awesome. Then we all got a click and a treat and TW bogged off.

Next thing she was at the gate again and the arabs caned it up there. We couldnt be arsed. Mikka is the greediest pony I have ever met. She got clicks and treats for not mugging but I'm not sure she got owt for kicking Lyra's ass when she tried to get involved. Ha!!

famous

oof it was another roasty toasty day today. We were all chilling by the shelters when TW arrived and she said it was too warm for riding today. So she made some fresh fly spray up from tea and oils and did some negotiating over some sprays in exchange for mints. It mostly worked well and even Lyra managed a little spray today. Trouble is Mikka gets a bit mint obsessed and stalked TW and ended up with loads of fly spray in the hope she could extra sweets. She is a wierdo. So then TW offered treats for swaps for backing up. Lordy I could not be arsed with that shizzle.

Anyhoo, she picked some poo and then we all had a nice snooze and TW sat and chilled with us. A bit later some lady arrived from the radio to chat to TW about us. We all bogged off out the way and when they came into the field Mikka bit the lady on the bum. Oops! Not sure that was helpful. Pah!!

TW came back later with Boblet and the dawgs but we were still in the bottom of the field ignoring her. Ha!!

mixed messages

TW was on a mission today again, pocket full of mints she came into the field with my headcollar. So I ran and ran and bit the girls and ran some more. And then stood nicely by the fence waiting for TW to catch me. She wasn't quite sure if I was trying to avoid being caught or whether I was trying to scare the girls away from the mints. And quite frankly neither was I.

So today I was a good lad being tacked up and a good lad when she got on. I contemplated some napping but the mints won the day and I did some good strolling about in the field. Then TW said lets go back now good lad so I nap napped napped and said I need more work and more mints to make my mouth even frothier. TW won but then we walked back to the mounting block and went back again with more mints. Nom. The girls were not impressed and mostly glared at me over the fence.

Back in the field TW tried to convince Jez to do some groundwork but she's on strike at the moment so the pesky arabs did their good girl tricks again and offered to play nicely. Fecking wierdos. In the afternoon it got too fecking hot again and we did a therapy session which mostly involved us stamping on Dilly's parelli podium thing. Dilly I have noticed won't go anywhere near it.

payment

It was proper pishing it down this morning when TW arrived, she wasn't in the mood to ride so I kept my head down and got nomming. Until she appeared in the field and said "who wants to do some riding?". Mikka was straight over to her but TW had to explain that she was far too heavy for Mikka's slimline ginger bones. TW thought she would like to ride Jez but Jez was not in the mood at all so for some reason she decided I had to go instead.

So I was a good boy leading out of the field and a bad lad when she was tacking me up. Then a good boy when she got on and then I decided I didn't really want to leave the others. So I napped. And we wrestled. And the reins were slippy so TW couldn't win. Ha!! But today she had a trump card. She gave me a kick and when I moved on a bit I got a mint. Nice. So I walked all across the field to the woods, down to the scary stump, back to the gate, back past the shelter and round again in exchange for some more mints until my mouth was frothing. TW was super pleased and phoned Boblet to tell him but he just suggested maybe next time I need a smack not a mint. He is such a loser.

Anyhoo, I went back to the field and Dilly's owner visited and the pharmocognosy lady came and spent time with Mikka, Misty and Jez. Then it pished it down some more and TW went home. She came back in the evening with the dawgs but there were no mints this time.

aww shit

So the sun has been bleddy roasting for days and we have mostly been chilling. Until today. Feck knows what has happened to TW but today she bowled up with the dawgs all confident like and chilled. So I did a mardy face and said I was sad and bored and then bit her. She was not best pleased.

Next thing, she's tacked me up and pops on cos I'm a good lad. Then we did some walking but she soon realised that her hands were all slippy on the reins from the peppermint oil. So I did some good napping including a nice mini rear. That got me a few hand slaps on the shoulder. Thats cruelty surely|? Anyhoo, the stupid nobber didnt even get nervous today and just kept making me pootle about. What a fecking cow bag.

The girls stood and watched my performance and I soon realised my mistake. Them buggers were hell bent on showing me up! Aargh, even Brack offered to be ridden. TW and Dilly pootled about and she was so proud and pleased. Then when she came back in the afternoon Jez was perfect and she had another pootle with Dilly. Then Boblet said I was a bad word and that noone likes me. Thats just mean!! So I strolled around in the sunshine with my bits hanging out to make myself feel better. Ha!!

Bite

So today was foot trimming day and the weather was bleddy roasting. I might have bitten TW on her wrist while I was having my tootsies done and Mikka might have bitten the hoof lady on her back. TW says we are all looking super shiny at the moment and we got to go back into the long grass again. Result.

Good Bot

So the weather has been bad and TW has been busy so we have mostly been mooching in the field getting soggy. Finally at the weekend the sun came out.

Yesterday me and TW had a pootle across the field while the others nommed. I was snorty and nervous but we did a good job and even had a few trots. Boblet was impressed. TW was very very happy.

This morning there was a slight issue. The gate between our paddock and the grassy paddock somehow got knocked off its hinges. TW blamed Dilly but Boblet knew it was really Bracken with his scratchy ass. Bleddy Brack, Misty and Lyra jumped over the gate through the tiny gap but I couldn't fit. Gutted. Fortunately when TW arrived she couldn't put the gate back on so she let us all through. Nom.

Anyhoo, we nommed and nommed the weedy grass. It was tres excellent. Then the physio lady came so I ran off and Dilly had to have a treatment. Lol. I showed TW up a bit more and then agreed to be caught. The physio lady said she noticed how TW went about trying to catch me..not sure what that was all about..she just bumbled after me whining til I agreed to be vaught. Nowt skillful there FFS!

My treatment was most lovely and I was super chilled and TW gave me kisses and said what a good boy I was. I got all relaxed and let it all hang out and that damn Pig tried to nosey at my bits which made me jump! TW lol'd at the bad dawg. Wee git. Later on she came back with Boblet and the dawgs and caught us snoozing in the no grass paddock. So we all got shut back in and Boblet fixed the gates. Pah!

knees

Well I never thought I would see the day! TW came up with Boblet and the dawgs this sunny morning and we were all chilling in the grass. She popped over to me and said cmon so I followed her like a good lad and the wierdy girls followed behind me in a conga. Up at the stable I got my tack on and the next thing Boblet had a hat on and we were walking down to the dry bit. WTF?

Anyhoo, on he popped wearing his natty shorts cos Boblet says pony riding is easy. But for some reason he wanted me to stay on a lead rein. TW tried to explain about my reins and stuff but Boblet said that I was more bothered about following TW than him so he popped off and said he didn't like riding anyway. And then said he would ride Dilly next time. WTF? I think TW had a little giggle and the girls were all shaking their heads. Then TW popped on me and we walked a bit, debated a bit, argued a bit and walked a bit more. Next TW popped off me and we walked a bit, debated a bit and walked a bit more. When TW was sure I was being a good lad she wobbled on top of a tree stump and hauled herself back on and we had a lovely relaxed walk back to the gate.

Boblet said I did much better after a walk in hand and that I need that every time. I think he thinks he's bleddy Mark Rashid or summat. Me and TW just giggled and had a nice walk to the field. The girls were pissed off that they didn't get out today i reckon. Boblet put the scratchy post back up cos someone with a big bum ( not TW ) had knocked it down and then they buggered off.

Later on they all came back and TW did a bit of drumming for us much to Boblet's disgust and then she did a mindfulness session with a family while we all snoozed. TW says she is booking some transport to take me on some rides soon. We live in hope. Maybe Boblet will take Dilly!!

humph

So yesterday TW didnt stay long. The word on the street is she is working too many hours and is generally a grump. So we had our hay and yeast and stuff and then she fecked off. Later on Boblet appeared and then a reiki class came and learnt how to do reiki on us. Very odd.

Today we got dandelion root and burdock root and then she was gone. Boblet came and made us a scratchy post but TW was at work again. I wonder if I am retired? She says she wants a box and to book on some rides but I'm not sure when this will happen.

Wednesday, 10 May 2017

move

Mostly today we saw Boblet. Fair enough TW bought us hay and made us minty water but she went off to work and Boblet and the dawgs. Boblet set to work putting gates up and we all stood and stared all optimistic. He worked all day long in the sunshine. It was impressive. Finally when it was nearly dark, TW appeared and they let us into the dandelion paddock. Nom. And then TW went home to worry about colic and lammi. HA!

hemp

I've not posted for a few days cos TW has been hiding the laptop for some reason. She's a bit tired and stressy at the moment I think so we will forgive her for now.

Anyhoo, Sunday was a busy day with loads of chidler visitors and I let two have a wee bareback ride on me so TW was very proud. Yesterday we did a workshop for TW's work but mostly nommed and relaxed. Today it was essential oil time again.

Jez went first today, reluctantly at first but she did some sniffing and nomming and then got sad and gave TW a huge hug. Lyra stood and nosied the whole time. Jez decided that she had done enough and went back to the field and stood and watched. Brack didn't want a go so I went next and did loads of good work. I stood for 20 minutes sniffing hemp and yarrow and mimosa and went off into my own floaty world and processed loads of sad stuff. TW was really impressed. Then I got to nom some more herby bits and in the end had to be bribed to go back to the field with a bowl of burdock! Ha!!

Later on we did a therapy session with an old friend and the sun was shining. TW said I looked amazing. She was correct.

Saturday, 6 May 2017

oi

Today there was a scandal. First TW bowled up late as she has slept in and fair enough we got the hay out promptly but then Dilly and Jezey went up to the stables and got tacked up. WTF? The lady with the mini pony came and rode Dilly while TW rode Jez up and down the track a bit and lo and behold the Belle was perfect! Gah!! I stood and shouted and shouted to put them off but it didn't seem to work. When they came back I stood patiently by the gate waiting for my turn but it never happened.

Oh and Lyra is still mad at Boblet, turned her bum on him when he came to give her a cuddle. TW was in hysterics.

stoned

Time is a funny thing I reckon. 4 years ago I was doing some nice x-country stuff but last year I had just had my nasty scoping. This year is different again.

We've not seen much of TW the last two days cos she has been working long hours. She decided that she might want a black cob with a white star yesterday so when she arrived i made sure to arrange my mane to remind her that I myself have a big white star. That stopped her gallop I reckon.

Anyhoo, today she looked fecked when she arrived so we settled down to the nomming and waited for her to leave. But she didn't. Out of the field I went and she was pleased with how relaxed I was. Until i got my reins wrapped round my leg, pulled off the tie up thing in a panic, backed into the open stable door and panicked and jumped about some more. She calmed me down and freed my leg and we stood and chilled for a bit. Then she got on.

We did some nice riding and then I did my usual napping this time cos she tried to make me walk out of the field. At first she was worried about me but then she said "I AM NOT SCARED OF YOU THOMAS". Oh! Shit! So i stopped being a wally cos there was no point and we did some  nice riding and then I got a graze and lots of praise! Nice!

The girls saw the grazing and formed a nice queue for the next turn. She rode Jezey and did some groundwork with the Moo and Lyra and then rode Dilly. Damn. The girls were good too!! Bracky and Misty mooched round the field and ignored us. Oh and we all chased a scared walker dude who was lost in the middle of our field lol.

In the afternoon TW came back with Boblet and the dawgs. She gave us some licorice and some peppermint oil. Nom. Twas good. Mikka was loving the minty stuff. I ate so much mint I went all woozy and chilled and TW said it looked like i was stoned. Then Lyra called Boblet a bastard and tried to stamp on his foot. So they all went home!!

Tuesday, 2 May 2017

orange

Another sunny one today and again we were lying snoozing when TW arrived but we were up like lightening ready for the hay and more importantly the yeast. We nommed and she did some meditating and playing with her crystals which made her happy. Wierdo. I was meant to be going for a hack today but that did not hapen. Bad TW.

Next thing, Mr Stuart arrived with his family and me and Dilly had our new bridles fitted. Mine is the most gorgeous orange ever. I love it. Jez and Mikka were all over it trying to get bridles too but TW said not today ladies! Pah!!

Anyhoo, in the evening TW came back and we did a good therapy session. Then it started proper pelting down. TW didnt have a coat, that was rather amusing hehehe.

Sleep

It was peaceful at the yard this morning. When TW arrived, me, Misty, Lyra and Jez were down snoozing. Lyra was snoring so loud it was making the whole field rumble. TW sat down and did some meditating while we all finished snoozing and then we had hay-fast. Then Dilly did a bad thing - she got the gate open , again!! Mikka and Misty shot through but came back straight away. Then the bad baby barged her way out and made a run for it when the main gate was open!! Aarghhh!!! TW got to the gate but Lyra decided she wanted to do a Bracken impression and wouldn't be caught. It was painful to watch! Brack was very impressed though and eventually she got bribed back with a bit of a treat TW found in the car.

Then Boblet appeared with the dogs and his chum and TW went home.

We all had a nice day mooching about , the big black clouds kept popping up but the rain never came. TW reappeared in the evening and the flies were just gross. Mikka told TW that she would like a yellow bridle and said that when TW loses weight they can go riding. Mikka was so adamant that she went chasing after TW twice to make sure she knew she meant it. Sadly for TW Dilly and Jez wouldn't talk to her and just carried on nomming grass. Then we all had a little nob about apart from Bracky who managed to get some sneaky extra hay for his supper!! Git!

the power of mint and the big 4

It was another mob visit today, TW Boblet and the dawgs. The weather was a bit tricky, it was sort of seemingly sunny with some kind of cold wind thing going on. Not of that really mattered though cos we just got down to the hay and yeast feast. Nom.

Anyhoo TW offered reiki but no-one was in the mood. Dilly suggested maybe she focus on reiki-ing herself rather than us cos we are cool beans so TW said she would make a note of this for later. Then her and Dilly had a little pootle in exchange for some mints and grass on the track. As an extra reward TW covered her in lice powder too! Lol.

Mikka wanted a go next so she went for a walk down the track and did some nomming too, I was shouting my head off the whole time but no-one cared.

Next TW said I could have a go, I was feeling good and relaxed so she tacked me up and popped on in exchange for a mint. We are having girth issues again and some slippage, gah. TW had her cool head on today and just kept making me face the gate. Then I walked up to it. And got a mint. Interesting. We did it again. Another mint. Hmmm. Tw said walk to the first bush. So I did. Mint! Awesome. Back to Boblet. Walk to the second bush for a mint? Yeah go on then. Back on the yard she said have you done enough or do you want another mint? So I walked up to the second bush all on my own, had a mint and came back where Boblet gave me another. Ha!! Like this game. TW popped off and we had a stroll to eat some cow parsley and then I went back to the girls. Good work, TW was pleased and so I was I.

Last was Jez. Headcollar on and led round the hay bit perfectly, out of the field and TW and her did a bit of bareback meditating in the sunshine.

Even Boblet was impressed. And that is saying something.

Saturday, 29 April 2017

reiki

TW didn't hang around much this morning, just chucked us hay and yeast and popped off. Rude. It was a tad nippy though so we just settled down to the nom-athon.

After she went Boblet and the dawgs appeared and nobbed about a bit and then they popped off too. We kept nomming.

Anyhoo, just as the hay munching was coming to an end TW reappeared followed by the reiki lady. WTF we muttered and stood and waited to see what was happening. Aha TW had been on her reiki course and was coming to practice. Nah I don't think so lady, we ain't your guinea pigs. Every time TW tried to scan our chakra's we wondered off. In the end I made everyone bog off down the field. Mikka was a bit interested but then Boblet reappeared with some mints so she buggered off to him. Poor TW!!

Eventually TW gave up and reiki lady went home so TW and Boblet had a picnic and we had a run round to celebrate our fun. Then we nommed some grass and Jez did some browsing the edges for various tree bits just to make TW a bit more paranoid about lammi.

A bit later on the arab lady and her girls came. They bought their dawgs too. The wierd staffy was wearing a bleddy hi viz coat. She thought she could boss us about so we had a great time chasing her about the field until TW dragged her off and gave her to Boblet. Jeez wierd puppy. Bracky was full on after her.

The the girls and the cobs did a bit of pootling about and then I went for a pootle too. All very good. A bit more mucking about and then they all went to the pub leaving us to nom more hay.

Competition

TW, Boblet and the dawgs arrived together this morning and the sun was shining. TW got us a nice big bale of hay and we nommed and nibbles yeast.

Boblet says that Madam Lyra is getting too big for her boots so needs do a bit more something. TW chucked my muddy blue rug down on the ground and waited. Lyra was watching out the corner of her eye. Headcollar on and then a slight wrestle away from the hay. Lyra was intrigued. Wierdo. She stamped and pawed on my rug a few times and then walked over it and said "piece of piss", had a scratch and went back to the hay. TW was impressed.

Next Mikka did a teeny bit of stuff, she was keen too. Jez obviously wasn't and eventually had a smacked bum threat and then all of a sudden she realised she could be a good girl too. Not without scaring TW that she might have lammi though. Yeah cos that's the reason she plants her feet! Good work Bella.

Anyhoo, TW was feeling confident by this point and I was nice and relaxed so she took me up to the stable where Boblet was playing with his quad and tacked me up. No bother at all. I let her get on when she dropped her stick and then I decided I was too scared to leave the field. Bad move. TW and Boblet had a row cos he said he was too busy to help her. Lordy she screamed some bad stuff at him. I was even more scared after that! Not really! Boblet eventually walked out of the field and I followed him nicely all the way up the track and we practiced stopping and starting. Boblet reckons I've lost my confidence and need some practice to get it back.  Then we turned round on our own and started back up the track but the nobby horses who act like they've never seen horses before started twatting about so we came back and walked up and down by the stables instead for a bit. It was all good. TW said I was a very good boy and blew me some balloons up for a treat. That was nice of her. No-one was bothered about the balloons apart from the dawgs.

Next her and Dilly pootled about all over, nice and relaxed. Dildred works well in exchange for mints it seems. Even when Lyra knocked a barrow over to scare her she stayed cool. me and the arab girls were so jealous of the mints and Dilly even got some grass too ffs. Boblet says maybe TW could ride Dilly more if she is being good. Gah!  As soon as Dilly was back in the field Mikka said she wanted another turn so she went out and had a saddle on and did some grazing while TW drank her pop. TW bought Mikka today, I reckon Mikka was pleased to know she is staying with us forever. Cos when she tried to batter me in the field and TW got in the way she restrained the kicking and biting . The noises still made me and TW shit ourselves though. She must love TW i reckon.

snow in spring

The weather has been wierd. It has mostly been sunny and baltic with some snow and sleet. very wierd.

Yesterday I had my second session of nomming different stuff and sniffing things. It was interesting and I felt less sad this time and more relaxed. TW was frozen solid lol. She came back in the evening and did a teeny bit of groundwork with me, Jez and Lyra but I was a bit grumpy. Mikka ran off!

Today she came up twice again. The first time we had hay and another groundwork experiment. I was a very good boy and she was super proud of me. Jez was just Jez and Mikka and Dilly were perfect. Lyra is being a ratbag and pretending she is the boss. TW was surprisingly strict again. Today Lyra stole Mikka's hay, tried to kick me and tried to barge through the gate. Tut tut.

Anyhoo, TW came back a few hours later with the yeasty stuff so we had a nom. TW went and sat and had a chill and I picked her a dandelion which made her smile. Then Dilly got the gate open and bogged off to a big of grass and Jez followed. Jez was a good girl but Dilly took a while to be convinced to come back.  TW and Jez did some meditating in the sunshine and then she pootled off again. She's not doing a very good job of not working this week.

choices

So TW came up again yesterday evening while the sun was still shining but the weather was cold. Brack was stood all on his own at the top but still he wouldn't let her catch him but they had some cuddles. Then TW wondered down to the trees and sat and watched us and listened to music until she got too cold. We mostly ignored her. On the way back Brack was still on his own so TW played him a bit of Crowded House. I think he must have liked it cos he decided to follow her up and wait while she caught him. Then he got covered in the deosect and came running back to us. He likes to do things in his time.

Today it was windy and rainy. We had some hay and then Mikka went into the stable and had a tantrum in her purple fleece and pretended she was scared of the trailer. TW was surprisingly strict with the Monkey. Then a physio lady came and did some treatment stuff on her and said she had a sore neck from being a stress head and sore withers and back probably from a pinchy saddle. Mikka pulled some reet good nippy faces it was all good fun to watch. The physio lady says her stifles should get better but she has brushy back feet. Mikka has some exercises to do and then she is back in 4 weeks.

I got mostly neglected today but TW said my tummy seemed ok. Boblet is on his "they need discipline" rant again but not sure TW listens to him. We shall see.

romance

Happy anniversary to TW and Boblet. They've been married for one whole year today. This is apparently something to celebrate. And tbh as much as TW doesn't really need a man cos she has me, that Boblet is a useful dude.

Yesterday we got two bales of hay cos they were going away for the night but they were back at the yard with the dawgs by 11am this morning. We all ignored TW for ages and kept grazing further and further down the field. In the end she had to walk down and convince us to come up by walking ahead of us and then waving hay at us. It was all part of a cunning plan. We had a nice wee hooly on the way.

When we were nomming she got to work. First Dilly out and while she was distracted with a hay net, TW wiped her all over with the smelly deosect. Then it was my turn, I stood perfectly while she sprayed me all over. TW was very proud. Then Jez had the spray too cos she's also a brave one.

Next it was Misty's turn and by this point TW looked like she was gonna pass out from the fumes. Looks like Misty has popped out another abscess too so that's also good news so the pocket rocket can tear about again.

Anyhoo, Mikka was refusing to be caught so TW shouted Boblet to help with the baby Lyra but TW couldn't get her out the field. So Boblet did it. I think I might have heard TW growl under her breathe. Boblet was told to hold Lyra while she got wiped all over but Lyra was a bit scared. My favourite bit was when Lyra dragged Boblet off and ran into a wheelbarrow, shot forward and reared and looked like she was going to land on TW's head. She didn't though and just clonked her wrist instead. It's a bit lumpy now. So Lyra sort of got a half wiping and managed to get some grass nomming and mint eating in while she was at it.

Mikka spotted the mints and decided she would go next as long as she could barge Boblet over when he wasn't looking. This made TW laugh out loud. Quietly. She was good for her wiping really though apart from wanting to lick the stuff. Wierdo. Boblet got a bit cocky at this point and said he was gonna catch Bracken too. Obviously he didn't.

After the deosect action we all just chilled in the sunshine and mooched in the field. Jez wanted lots of cuddles and Lyra had some scratches and picked her feet up for TW to apologise for the other stuff. Then we had another little hooly in the sunshine and went off to the woods to chill.

Scandalous

Houston we have a problem. TW has acquired a taste for drinking beer on a school night and mostly watching lots of UFC fighting. She is also doing more work than we agreed. Therefore we have done feck all this week. And for the first time in a million years she did not come up before work. WTF?

Anyhoo, apparently it is 3 years since I had the shitty colic. This makes me and TW sad cos -

she shouldn't have let Bee and Frankie leave me
She shouldn't have moved me to a different yard with mean rules
She shouldn't have believed the back lady who said I was fine when I obviously wasn't

But on the plus side she had paid a gazillion pounds trying to make me feel better which includes collecting a whole herd of ponies and buying me some land. One day I am sure we get back out hunting and endurancing.

Today she arrived at the field and about 3.30 looking like a bag of shite. She said she had a pressy for me. I hoped it was lice treatment for the fleabags but thats not all arrived yet. But she had bought me a bag of burdock root. Nom. Me, Jez, Lyra and Misty nommed some down and Mikka had a wee nibble. Then she sat in the car eating biscuits while we ate the late hay.

warm

Today there was a lovely warm morning. We ignored TW for a super long time today before coming up for hay-fast and random pics. She noticed that there are more and more green patches appearing on us from the spirulina.

Anyhoo, TW wanted to sit at the yard all day but she had work to do. So she gave us some scratches and sat for a wee while. Jez told TW that life is too short for fecking about and she needs to get her arse in gear and get riding.

Later Boblet told TW he had noticed all of the packages that keep coming for us that she doesn't even open. he threatened to take charge of the finances, TW told him to crack on. I reckon Boblet was scared.

burdock

So TW and the cripple arrived a bit later than we would have liked today. We were grazing obviously when they arrived and the girls wanted to blank them in protest. I was like feck that shit I need my hay-fast so off we trouped and got stuck in to the good stuff. I am most impressed with the continued hay supply , it's nice for my tummy I reckon.

Anyhoo, TW was unpicking the wind knots again when a little green car arrived with a lady in it. The dawgs were tres excited. TW and me had a dance about cos I wasn't massively keen on being caught however when she muttered the magic words "you're a dick" I relented and went up to see the lady. Wowzer!! She had boxes and boxes of shizzle.

So this lady was a pharmocognosy dude. Boblet wasn't convinced but everyone knows he's a heathen. The lady had different oils and herbs and stuff for me to self select to heal myself. Awesome. I liked this game.

So we started off with the violet stuff and I nommed it down. I told TW I was still upset from when I colicked cos I thought I was going to die and she was so sad. I remember lying in the field panting all exhausted while TW sat and cried and held my head. That made TW get wet eyes. Then I sniffed and licked various things. The lady knew I had tummy problems and emotional issues and was well prepared with her kit.

I mostly nommed mint and seaweed and sniffed oils. TW said I wasn't fussed about licorice so I ate shit loads. I also chucked a couple of buckets of water over the lady, spat at TW and pulled great faces. Apart from when the lady tried to photograph me. Then she got out the burdock. OMFG it was awesome. I ate so much of it. I bet TW buys me some later. Lunatic tried to steal the seaweed. Dilly could see I was nomming and tried to draw attention to herself by kicking the gate but I ignored her.

Then the lady said she would offer me some oils to help with emotions. Meh. Not so fussed about that, I don't know if TW can handle it. I sniffed some bits and then she offered me the stuff for separation anxiety. Fuck that shit. I turned my back and ignored her til it went away and some herby stuff reappeared. No trauma therapy til I feel safe dudes.

Then we finished and I went back to the field and nommed some hay the others had left. TW wanted Brack to have a session but he refused. Silly bugger. I reckon he might like it. TW and the cripple that is Boblet mooched about a bit more and then they fecked off and we carried on grazing. Not a bad day.

Pain

So this weekends learning seems to be that boys cannot manage pain as well as girls. This is the conclusion as we have not seen Boblet since yesterday due to his poorly back. TW has concluded due to his whinging that he has done himself an injury similar to when she last plopped off my back ( Zorro style) but apparently Boblet wakes her up at 1.30am screaming in pain and requesting reiki while TW had to suffer in silence.

I did take umbrage to this as she is not to mention falls and she apologised. I'm also not convinced that boys are wimpier than girls however I can't say that out loud in case I get booted.

Anyhoo, we have only seen TW today. This morning she was focused on untangling wind plaits and spraying mane and tail juice everywhere. I was a very good boy but again wet weather makes my tummy grumble. When she came back later she somehow convinced Brack to get a headcollar on and have some fly spray. Me and Jez and Mikka had some perfume on too, so did Misty. TW tried to get a bit on Lyra but she freaked out a wee bit. Dilly was not interested.

TW is worried about pony lice at the moment so has been on an ebay spending spree for de-lousing stuff. The difficulty will be getting the de-lousy stuff on the ponies that need it. We have a lady visiting tomorrow to bring some lotions and potions. Apparently Boblet said that TW "does spend some money on alternative shit", I think hes just jealous.

Ribs, dandelions, pips and eggs

Boblet has broken his ribs. Again. This time he did it pretending to be an acrobat and slipped while jumping up a wall. He is in a lot of pain. TW is being a good nurse and taking care of him with a special treatment regime. So today he had to stack 50 new bales of hay apparently to make him feel better. I'm not sure it worked!

Anyhoo, today I have mostly been nomming dandelions. And I had a bit of yeast today. We have all been nice and chilled, mooching about but we are all super itchy. Misty had lots of scratches but the rest of us weren't fussed. We would rather rub on the fence and annoy Bobley some more.

After the hay delivery (the hay man asked Boblet if TW had punched him and broke his ribs...) they went home and we mooched about some more. Then they came back and TW offered round some agnus castus pips while Boblet and the lunatic hid chocolate eggs. Misty loved the pips and ate loads. Dilly wanted pips but didn't really need them she is just a guzzle guts, Mikka liked them too. Jez just pulled faces at them and Brack said they were vile. I ate a few though, they were sort of tasty.

A bit later and the kids arrived with their new red truck. The bigger two ran about collecting eggs in Mikka's bucket with Boblet while the wee one sat in his truck and shouted Jezey. He is pony obsessed. When they headed back to the yard we all had a mini hooly to beat them to it and lined up so they all had to parade through us. They didn't mind though. Then some walkers came and said nice things about us and gave the girls some cuddles while I slept. The baby was not impressed as he says we are his ponies. A bit later they all went home and we went back to sleep after the big boy and Boblet gave Misty some cuddles. I think TW has forgotten about riding again. Nightmare.

scratches

TW had lots of time today but mostly she wanted to sleep. We mostly felt the same. We were waiting round the gate when she arrived with the dawgs and pretended we were hungry. Then we took it in turns to knock the barrow over with all the supplements in it. I think we did a good job of winding her up. Im not bothered about supplements at the moment but Misty is still loving the yeast and Dilly will eat owt.

Anyhoo, she chucked us hay out and then took some to the shelter for Brack who was hiding from the midges. Then she chilled for a bit with the dawgs while we munched. Well until she realised that daft iggy had gone wondering off on his own. Lordy that was some shouting early in the morning!!

After that she put the dawgs away and offered up some scratches. Mikka was feeling better today so had loads of scratches all over. Then Dilly had a go but me and Jez weren't fussed. Misty had a little scratch and then decided she preferred to nip TW's hand and Lyra was busy nomming. So eventually TW made her way to the shelter and spent ages with the Bee. I want to get out and about on some rides soon but I don't think TW can be arsed at the moment. So rude. She says I need to be confident at home first. . Gah.

long day

Hay is no longer a priority, so when TW chucked it out for us we came up had a nibble but we weren't massively fussed. TW tried to catch me but I fecked off so Jez and her had a tootle about and then I agreed to have a go. TW made the mistake of dropping her stick cos we were just walking up and down the yard so I pretended to chuck in a wee buck just to test her nerves. She just gave me a mouthful though, Gah!

Anyhoo, Dilly didn't want to be ridden and we all trundled off to get the grass. A bit later the osteo lady came and Misty, me and Jez had a treatment. My TMJ was tight. Mikka wasn't in the mood so she sacked her session off. Then TW bogged off for some grub.

A wee bit later she reappeared with the dawgs and they all had a big run about while we kept nomming grass. Then a bit later the kids appeared and then eventually Boblet rolled up and they had a picnic and some water fights and random stuff. The baby one was shouting for Jezey again and thinks Misty is Iggy the pup! Dafty. He's been a bit scared lately cos Boblet reckons I bit his fingers so he gets confused cos he loves us all loads and panics when we get too close. So I'm staying out the way til he feels better.

Eventually TW left and we set about finishing the rest of the hay. Nom.

gnashers

We were grazing when TW arrived this mo. We were almost not bothered about the hay. Almost but not quite. I thought I might get a little bit of riding in but TW was all tired again. Jez told her that her energy was wrong and she should go home so TW went back to bed and we nommed the hay in the wind.

Anyhoo, she came back after lunch time and we were all nomming down the bottom of the field. TW chucked us some extra hay out and walked down to tell us it was there so we all trundled up and did some more nomming.

Then the dentist appeared.

I got my head down and nommed. I did not need my pegs checking. Mikka monkey went first. She pretended she was going to be a monkey but was then a really good girl. Then Jez had hers done and TW was very proud of her. Dilly was not so keen and Brack completely refused. Dafty. She's coming back in 6 months so then it will be my turn again.

perfume

Yesterday was hot. Today was hot. TW and Boblet spent loads of time chilling at the yard, some with the dogs and some without. We nommed hay and grass and mooched about.

Today TW made us special perfume. It was cold tea, lavender, tea tree, bergamot and bog myrtle. Stinky. I let her spray me all over. The others weren't so keen. We've not done any riding this weekend but TW says thats ok cos we have been relaxing. We got excited when we thought we might get into the paddocks with the grass but it was a trick. We aren't so fussed about the hay at the moment though, Boblet said we shouldn't get it any more but TW says he talks rubbish.

Anyhoo, the random bowls of shizzle keep appearing. The spirulina keeps going down but no-one is sure who is eating it. Brewers yeast seems to be the favourite at the moment , it's another thing that TW thought might help Brack. He ain't interested though.

This afternoon some of the chiddlers came to play. We just stayed grazing. Sounded like they were having fun though.

relax

Yesterday I had a day off. Today I had a day off. The sun has been shining and the flies have been shitty. My tummy has felt good though. The flirting and the squirting from Mikka, Lyra and Dilly has been a bit much and Brack's fly aversion is stressing him out muchly.

Anyhoo, TW and Jez had a little play this morning. Jezey is one strong beasty but she is trying her hardest to be a good girl. We had hay this morning and some yea sac. TW tried to convince Brack to have his rug on but he was not interested. It made TW sad cos she was worried about his itchiness. She offered us some spirulina too but no-one wanted it.

In the afternoon she reappeared with Boblet and the dawgs and 5 new feed tubs. She put out brewers yeast, marshmallow, salt, equishure and spirulina. I nommed the brewers yeast and the girls mooched round the rest. Lyra and Dilly ended up with green noses. Then TW chatted to a lady on the phone who is going to come and visit me and Bracken and see if she can help us with some herbal stuff. Then we mostly slept in the sunshine.

Sleepy

TW was super sleepy when she arrived at the yard this morning. We were all lined up waiting by the gate for her which surprised her. She chucked us our hay about but it wasn't the best bale. We still started nomming it though.

It was a lovely sunny quiet day. TW decided it was a nice day for another try so she got me out of the field and let me nom some more and gave me a nice brush and massaged my stifles. I had a bit of mycosorb but didn't want the equishure. Then she got my tack on. Fourth day on the trot.

Anyhoo, she popped on board by the stables and I backed up and turned round. TW took a deep breathe and turned me. Left. I did it. And we stood together and breathed deeply. TW said she only wanted me to try and walk round the boulder and back. I sighed. She wiggled the stick and off we went. Nice and relaxed. By the donkeys she felt me hesitate and before I turned she made me stop and we stood and breathed again. And strode on round the boulder and back. She was so happy. Dafty. Back at the field I had a mooch and a nibble by the car and then went back in with the dudes. And spent the rest of the day chilling. I think Jez was a bit miffed that she didn't get out today.

persevere

Today was a day of many parts, and many bad words. TW came up early and chucked out the hay and tried to convince me that we should try another pootle. I declined. Multiple times. She decided that I was winding the others up by my running away from her skills so in the end went for Jez instead. Jez was a good girl and got up to the stables quite easily. TW was pleased. They managed a tiny way along the track before Jez got scared and then Jez came back. TW was sort of sad that Jez was scared but reasoned that she was being much better at coming away form the herd so that was good enough.

I decided I was ready then, so she caught me, brushed me and tacked me up. Nae bother. She got on me by the stables and off we went. Or not. I backed up and backed up and turned and backed up. We tried again. And again. And again. TW dropped her phone and I tried really hard to step on it and stamp on the mounting block. The air turned blue. She shouted and shouted and shouted. The girls were shocked and stood staring. I carried on nap nap nap. TW eventually jumped off, rescued her phone and moved the mounting block closer to the donkeys. She got back on. I nap nap napped and threatened to rear and napped some more. I refused to turn left but circled right and tried to trample the conifers. We went round and round and back and forward. We did not get past the donkeys. TW wanted to cry. I went back to the field and went to sleep.

Hoof lady came and Mikka was a good girl. Then Jez was a good girl too. Then I had mine done and I was a good boy and last but not least Misty was a very good girl. TW was confused cos my legs and tummy seem fine. Hoof lady says she thinks I just don't want to leave the girls. They are all super flirty squirty at the moment, Lyra is the worst!!

Anyhoo, TW went home and a wee while later she returned with Boblet and the dawgs. The dawgs went for a play with Boblet and TW decided she was going to take me for a walk. So she got me in and I was a good boy. So she tacked me up and I was a good boy. She found her purple glitter stick and took me for a walk past the donkeys and to the lambs. No problem. So she popped on me. No problem. And asked me to walk. Nap nap nap. We stopped and did some slow breathing and I napped some more. So she rode me down to the yard. No problem.

Tried to ride me back. Nap nap nap. "I do not even understand what you are getting out of this!!" muttered TW and wiggled her sparkly stick some more. I sighed and walked out of the yard, past the donkeys and to the lambs. TW was confused but very very pleased. The lambs were scary so we turned round and came back and she rubbed some oils on me and Boblet gave me a groom. I'm shattered.

End on a good note

TW came on her own this morning cos the dawgs were all shattered from the weekend. She hayed us up and then took me out of the field. I came straight out. I got my own hay, had a brush and got my hooflets picked out and got half tacked up. TW was proud of me, she said I was lovely and relaxed.

Anyhoo, TW had her phone appointment while I nommed my hay and then I got the rest of my tack on and we got ready to go. Minus a few stirrups falling off and TW popped on, still nice and relaxed.

So, I walked forward then decided I was scared. The donkeys were wrestling and fecking about. I went backwards. I wiggled about. I tried my best to show I was scared. TW got scared too. We debated for ages. In the end TW sent a text message and we just sat there. Next thing teacher lady appeared on a nice grey boy. Fair enough I thought and followed them back to the road. TW laughed.

Down the road we went, me behind, side by side and my trying to get ahead. There were some proper eejits on the road today, driving too fast with rattly trailers. I wasn't bothered though. Down the road, round to the right then back to the teacher ladies yard. She popped off and we carried on. Past the big dog, through the electric gate then down the stoney drive. All on our own , nice and relaxed. Onto the road and along.

Half way along the road I stopped. And reversed. There was something bad on the right. TW turned me round and I started marching back down the road. SO we turned round again and marched back to the scary spot, I got a bit further and stopped again. So TW popped off and I had a big poo and we marched together back to our place. TW says she was so proud of me. Then she decided that maybe I could walk down the track this time on my own cos the donkeys had gone. So on the popped. Off we started. And I napped again. And again.

We went round and round and backwards and forward. I got to past the donkeys but that wasn't good enough so I got myself back to the gate! Ha! Then TW decided we should compromise and maybe I could just get back to my mounting block. We went round and round, closer and closer. So annoying!! SO I decided the best thing to do was stamp and paw on the conifers. TW was horrified! SO I did it some more. And some more. Eventually she laughed. Then when she laughed I got closer to the mounting block and off she popped. Always end of a good point.

Back in the field the girls were all flirty and squirty, I really couldnt be arsed with it. Later on in the day TW came back with the dawgs and we all had some sniffs of the new essential oils. Apart from Bracken who just ran off. We all mostly liked the bergamot and maybe the ylang ylang a bit. But mostly we liked the grass.

itch

It was a sunny Sunday today. TW and Boblet came up nice and early with the Lunatic, chucked us some hay and set about shovelling muck from the top yard into a trailer. It looked very boring. After 3 or 4 loads TW wanted a rest and decided to ride me while Boblet went for a walk with the dawg.  She snuck up on me when I was nibbling and dozing and before I knew it I was tied to the stable with a bit of hay. I just snoozed.

Tack on, nice and chilled. TW said we could try and step on the road again today if we felt brave. I wasn't fussed. Before she got on by the donks she realised my stirrup had fallen off. Oops. Then when she got on the saddle slipped a bit and the stirrup fell off again. I didn't mind. So off she got and sorted me out and tried again. Then Boblet reappeared and tightened my girth again cos I'm a bit in between sizes at the moment.

Boblet said he would walk with us, so we mooched down the track nice and chilled. At the bottom TW asked him to wait for us cos we needed to go on the road a bit. Off we set. At the farm drive I thought we were turning round but TW said we could go a bit further today. When cars came past she made me stop and stroked me and made the cars go slow and all was good. We tootled a bit further to the next drive where I spied the ginger shetlands. So when the road was clear we turned round and started to tootle back. All of a sudden 3 cars started coming towards us so TW asked me to stop again while they drove past. After the first one I was bored so said cmon and off we went, back to Boblet and down the track. The Lambikins were bleddy scary though!! Boblet gave me a carrot when we got back and TW popped me back with the dudes. I made sure she gave me a good kiss too for being awesome.

Bracky was super itchy today. TW got him in a head lock while Boblet got a headcollar and then she sprayed him with tea tree oil and gave him carrots and scratches. He did not want his rug on. He spent most of the day in the shelter hiding from the flies. When TW and Boblet came back with all the dawgs he was hiding and TW tried to convince him to have a rug on. He ran off and ran round the field rolling and looking annoyed at midges. TW was sad so me and Lyra made her scratch us lots to distract her.

natives v arabs

Sorry I've not blogged for a few days. TW got so germed up that she confiscated the laptop and sulked for a few days. We only really saw her for hay visits and a few cuddles. What a mardy bum!!

Anyhoo, today she was starting to feel a wee bit better cos she had a big sleep. She came up and gave us hay and Boblet set to work hammering wood on the fence to try and stop the dawgs straying too far away. TW decided she could do some stuff.

First she took Jez out of the pot which is never easy cos Jez is a supreme foot planter. She gave her a nice groom and tacked her up and attempted to ride up the track. But Jez was too scared. So they tried to walk up the rest of the track in hand. Jez wasn't keen. So they came back to the yard and had a little wrestle and ride about. TW was pleased.

Then Mikka had a nice groom and went for a wee walk and was very good apart from jumping at the lambikins. TW was very pleased. Mikka was very cuddly. I went to sleep.

Next Dill had a brush and a tiny ride. TW was pleased. Boblet was slightly worried as Dilldred threatened to bog off but TW laughed and it was all good. I snoozed some more.

Then Lyra practiced leaving us. She was slow and steady so they also practiced turning round. Then they did tying up. Lyra was very good but she still doesnt like picking her feet up. TW said the arabs are easier than the chunks, I have no idea what she is on about. Oh!! And they all got carrots. I did not. Bracken knew TW was on a mission today and spent the whole day hiding from her. I've got a runny tummy a bit but I still feel ok. I was meant to be on a pleasure ride today, I'm looking forward to some regular work.

shedding blade

It was a cold and foggy morning when we had hay-fast today. TW got the shedding blade out and got to work. I was not interested. Soon there was hair flying everywhere. Mingling with my hay. Yuck. Everyone had a good go apart from me and Misty. Her lameness has gone cos her abscess has popped. Excellent news.

Anyhoo, TW filled the water and then Dill started to scratch her legs on the gate like she does. The new gate. She scratched and scratched and then realised her leg was stuck and started to panic. She looked round at TW and pulled and pulled and TW panicked too and ran forward spraying herself with water. Just as Dill pulled again and opened the gate and then got her leg free! So we all ran through the gate into the top bit. TW was not impressed and immediately got freezing cold. Oops. Then she went and sat in the car and blasted herself with the heater and chatted to the communicator lady who told her I was doing a lot better while I mooched around with Bracken and grazed.

Later on in the evening TW came back with the dawgs and they had a run about while TW offered us a sniff of lavender. Jez loved it and had some licks of it too. Nom. Then TW tried to do some nice reiki healing for us all but Lyra went and demanded scratches instead. I'm sure she thinks shes a dawg too!

Monday, 27 March 2017

quiet

TW looked like a bag of spanners when she came up first thing. She chucked some hay around and gave us all a quick scratch. Then she gave Misty a poke and noticed she has a bit of heat in her hind hooflet and thinks she's probably got an abscess brewing. Then she snotted off. I didn't get my lesson today cos of her dirty germs.

She came back quite late with Boblet and the dawgs. She says thats the good thing about the clocks changing. Anyhoo we didn't get extra hay but frankly we weren't bothered. She came and checked us all out again and lifted Misty's tootsies and Lyra's too, Lyra then went cantering about to show she had been a good girl. Mikka and TW had a little chat about galloping through fields together and TW checked everyones tootsies for heat. Mine were the coolest. She wants Boblet to make us a coral thing soon so we can stay off the grass if we need too. Could be interesting.

Sunday, 26 March 2017

snot

Tw was even more germy today than she was yesterday. What a pita. She was no fun at all today. She came up early with Boblet and the dawgs and fed us the hay. Nom. My tummy seems good at the moment. Misty ate loads of mycosorb and we all ignored the bucket of salt.

They came back in the afternoon without the dawgs and the sun was still shining and TW was still one big lacklustre germ. She sat in the field for a bit and then sat in the trees and her and Lyra listed to some shamanic drumming songs. Lyra likes music. Misty has a wee sore leg today and was grumpy when TW's pals came to visit. Boblet said he was going to do some rapping for us but he never did. Such a disappointment.

sunshine

Sorry I didn't blog last night. We were busy celebrating in the field cos TW has finally bought it for us. No more moving. She visited us twice yesterday and played us some tunes and we all chilled in the sunshine. We are down to one bale of hay a day as a regular thing now. She says she wants us to get working and rummage round the field and find some good grub. We still like loitering at the top though just in case any more hay appears.....

Anyhoo, today was a lovely sunny day. Boblet admitted to TW last night that when its went and windy he worries about us. Hahahah TW thought that was hilarious. We know he loves us loads really. We thought there might be some riding today but instead they did some good jobs. Boblet fixed the stable roof, they measured some stuff for fencing and then got the quad and trailer out. So we all stood around the gate and made him drive though us. Hahahah!

Tw got a bit cross when when they were sorting the field out. Boblet dug out a pile of nettled and they found it was full of wire and broken glass. Just gross. They're making plans for how they can make the field perfect for us. I think we just need grass mostly.

I had a nice brush in the sunshine and TW rubbed some neem on me. Love it. Everyone else thought it stinks and ran off from it. Mikka had a nice brush too though. We had some mycosorb and equishure in a feed buckets today. I wasn't really fussed. Misty are the mycosorb and had a lick of the equishure. Dilly had a go cos she's a gannet but she wasn't keen. Boblet noticed that Dilly has knocked his walls down again. And when she thought no-one was looking she went and blocked the footpath so a couple of walkers couldnt get passed her. TW says Dilly is a bugger.

Thursday, 23 March 2017

1 or 2

Yesterday was a scandal. We only had one bale of hay all day and it was bleddy freezing. TW felt very guilty when she finished work and her car was all frozen up. Very bad feeding! Mikka had a chat with a communicator lady. She told her about her sticky leg and achy hips and said she'd quite like to live like the donks. She made the communicator lady laugh a lot. She also made some comment about me not really being her boss.....Not sure about that!

Today she came up with the dawgs and she was still super germy. We got two bales of hay today though which was better. The dawgs ran around and got mucky and we just nommed and got a quick check over. Tomorrow might be a special day says TW, we've all got our hooves crossed.

work

This morning it was so sunny and bright. And blowing a gale and absolutely baltic. TW was frozen when she came up to give us the hay-fast and she could barely see cos her mane was blowing in her face. She sat on a rock for ages and watched us nom and then got primed for action.

She made a hay net and popped it at the top of the yard and said it was time to go. I walked off. She followed me. I bit Brack and walked off some more. She followed me some more. Eventually I gave up and we got through the gate and very slowly made our way to the stables. I had a big sniff of lavender oil and so did TW. I was very very scared but TW was patient until she tied me up and I repeatedly swung my bum into her. The wind is scary you're honour.

Anyhoo, she said we were going for a lesson so I did my best huff and puff nervous nelly impression. Surprisingly she mostly ignored me (although had a brief thought about cancelling), tried to brush me but gave up, tacked me up and off we strolled. Down the track I huffed and puffed and spooked and occassionally grazed, got me some nice clivers today. It was busy on the road and TW protected me nicely from the cars cos I was busy sniffing and stopping and staring.

We got to the lesson just on time and TW shouted to Jiggys mum who was busy in the barn. She walked me round in hand and then the nice teacher lady helped her get on. I started off with a nice spook at the sheep shed and the teacher lady led me round past them but TW said I didn't need that help today so off we went. Today we did circles and circles and circles. Bending right is not easy. The grumpy cob next to the school kept launching at me cos he thought I wanted his wee hay net which was a bit wierd. TW said so many nice things to me it was lush. I think I did a good job. She wasn't nervous today either. After half an hour I was shattered and TW said thank you we are done. So off she popped and we strolled nice and relaxed back home with some grazing breaks on the way.

Back at the field I nibbled the hay the others had left and TW told me how good I was again. Then she went and for some reason it started snowing.

In the evening the chiddlers arrived to look at lambs and then Boblet and the dawgs. I tried to nibble them all so they went and hid in the caravan as it was even colder. Eventually TW arrived and gave us our second bale. She said we had to be warm tonight as the weather was looking crap. Mikka refused to have her rug on though. TW was confused. Oh and did I tell you that TW says I have ribs! She was impressed. Think she wants ribs too.

Monday, 20 March 2017

two halves

Today was a day of two halves. The first half was wet and grotty , we had hay in nets and tried not to trample on the dawgs. The second half was sunny and dry and we had hay on the floor. TW put some mycosorb out too but I wasn't bothered, Misty ate it all up. Nom. My tummy was feeling fine today and all my hair is starting to come out. TW was feeling a bit sad today she said her day has been full of eejits. We were mostly too busy eating to pay much attention.

Sunday, 19 March 2017

new gate

TW was up uber early for a Sunday. She made the haynets but today she put then on the big shelter and the fence which was wierd. Then she fenced us off the top of the field and put an extra line of fencing up too, we didn't care though we were nomming in the super windy wind.

Off she went to do some yoga with the chiddlers. Next thing Boblet arrives all efficient like and set to work. We ignored him. He's insignificant when we have food. He worked hard though fitting a shiny new gate to keep us off the top bit. It looked good.

Anyhoo, a few hours later and TW reappeared and we had some scratches and chats and she took some photos. Then we did a nice family therapy session and charged about a bit causing trouble.

drizzle

We didn't see much of TW yesterday but we still had plenty of hay so that was all good. Today we saw her 3 times (well she came to visit 3 times but on the second occassion me and Bee ignored her completely!).

Firstly, she came with Boblet and the dawgs for the usual hay-fast and water visit. All good, plenty of hay but the weather is not the best at the moment, drizzly mizzly and a wee bit windy. The drizzly rain sets my tummy off a bit so I got a crafty grab of her coat when she wasn't looking but as soon as I started on the hay I felt better.

Then they bogged off with their tired, hungover faces and went shopping for stuff. A bit later they came back with a shiny new gate and some posts. As i said, me and Brack stayed down in the field shelter eating our hay but the girls were mostly interested in saying hello again. Mikka asked for a rug on as she doesnt like the damp so TW lent her a red rug of Jez's as she said it was far too warm for a MW. Mikka was happy with that. TW got all muddy as she hasn't got her yard boots on which was a bit daft really. She noticed there were some sloppy poos about and knew they were mine which sort of made her worry a bit but not too much cos my tummy is mostly feeling fine.

In the afternoon TW reappeared, I reckon she had been for a nap. She went and sat in the woods and my and Lyra said hello while she just chilled out and practised her reiki stuff. We mooched about and grazed and listened to some music and then she pootled off again. Without giving us more hay. The girls were not impressed.

chilly

The temperature has dropped a bit again which isnt so nice and today the sun has been hiding. TW came up nice and early and gave us hay-fast and the dawgs had a run around. That Iggy was being an eejit today, pretending he was deaf. TW was trying hard not to have an early morning tantrum, especially as the neighbours were  watching but we could tell she wanted to boot him up the arse or bite his back like Bracky did.

Anyhoo, while we nommed, TW and the dawgs walked about the field and spotted all the nice growing stuff. All kinds of goodies are sprouting up. TW wondered whether she should cut out the hay now and make us forage more but I know she darent do that cos of my tummy. She was on poo watch round the field too and thought she could see poorly poos but tbh I think maybe the birds have just been scattering stuff about cos my tummy is certainly not hurting. I had a lick of mycosorb anyway to make her feel better, Misty ate loads and had a fight with Dilly over some. Wierd girls.

TW had early work today but she still decided to have a teeny pootle on Jez. The slippy saddle happened again and Jez was slightly less peeved when she again got a boot up the arse. TW was very apologetic again and Jez is mostly a forgiving sort. Today the aim was to walk down past the water and round Iggys blue tub and they did it relatively easily. I was impressed. Jez did a few turn round and attempt to get back to the hay but TW just made her do a teeny circle and keep walking. TW had been taught that when Jez turns right in a nappy way that she has to turn her left and not let her go the way she wants....she decided today though that was silly as Jez is super strong and that fighting with her isn't nice and it makes more sense to use her energy to keep her moving rather than fighting against her. Jez seemed to appreciate that. She did suggest that TW get off when they got back to the hay though and TW was happy to oblige.

The weekend was meant to be my time but it looks like the rain is coming again. Thats no good at all.

Not today thankyou

Its been another sunny one today which is great news, we weren't quite so hungry when TW arrived for hay-fast but we did some good nomming anyway. I'm a little bit suspicious that she's trying to reduce how much we get so I need to keep my eye on her I reckon.

My tummy is still good and we are all still chilled. TW is still snot-tastic. She decided that maybe a wee tiny sit on one of us would help so she changed it and tacked Jez up. No bother. But Jez wouldnt move from the hay pile so TW bought the mounting block to Jez. Unfortunately the saddle thing slipped a touch when she was getting on and she kicked Jez up the bum. Hahahahaha!! Jez just glared at her, I'd have decked her if that were me, I hate slippy saddles.

So they sat and Jez nommed and we all stayed nomming too rather than swapping about cos that could have got tricky. TW wanted Jez to have a pootle down to the water but quite frankly Jez wanted hay and not much else. They did it eventually and TW was pleased. I was shocked that she kept laughing at Jezs tanky spins. I stopped laughing when TW said she had time for a little pootle on me too and promptly bogged off. Oops!

learn and meditate with Jez

TW is a super germ at the moment. We were grazing near the shelter when she arrived this morning as 1) she was late (had to wait for her car to be ready she said) and 2) we were partitioned off by the water. To be fair we (Misty) had knocked down the wooden bar but hadn't broken the strand of electric tape stuff, I don't think the germ could take it today. She checked my tummy a few times and it was all good.

Anyhoo, she hayed us up and sat around for a bit. She was feeling a bit crappy as she had to cancel her hack cos of the snot issue, but chilling in the fresh air is always good. She had a good idea and took the mounting block to the water and hoped that someone might want to be ridden! I kept on nomming with my back to her.

Dildred hasn't been ridden for ages so TW thought she would chance it and popped on her rope halter. |So far so good so she nipped into the store to get the saddle, when she came back out she was chuffed to see Dilly stood waiting outside for her and saddled her up. Off they went to the mounting block and just sat for a while. Dilly said she couldnt really walk in the opposite direction from the hay so they discussed it for a while and then TW let Dilly walk her back to the hay pile. TW was very pleased.

I reckon TW was feeling a bit brave again so she tried to put the halter and Jez who bimbled off without her, stood by the stable and waited nicely to get tacked up. Very impressive. The thing with Jez is she's a bit odd. She stood there with all her tack on and then wont move her feet. She sort of goes into a trance like she's frozen. Normally TW gets really stressed by this and the more stressed she gets the more frozen Jez gets. Today TW tried hard, she breathed slowly and talked softly and told Jez that she didn't need a smack (Jez thinks people are going to smack her for some reason). Eventually she moved. TW was chuffed. But then she stopped again. By the big concrete block.

TW was confused and wondered how she was going to get the rest of the way to the mounting block when she realised that Jez wanted her to get on there. So she popped on and they pootled down to the water , had a sit and a mooch and came back. TW was very very very pleased.

I said to TW I dont want to be ridden today thanks and she said that's fine and sat about a bit longer before pottering off on her own snotty way.

In the evening she came back and gave us our second bale and Boblet walked the dawgs. Then she played a game - it was who will let me near them on a mounting block. God only knows why she tried Bracken first but TW thought it was hilarious. Brack moved off, I moved off, Lyra and Mikka moved off, Dilly pretended she was going to play but shen she moved off too. So TW stood on her mounting block with Jez and lay over her back and they meditated while Jez nommed.

Then as they were about to leave the Queen Bee followed TW to the stables and demanded a bit of scratchy reiki - TW wouldnt need a mounting block to get on her lol.

the boss, the spy, the queen

Yesterday TW was up very late. 1pm late! She had been looking after the chiddlers and had to wait til they were collected til she could come. TBH she looked fecked when she arrived as baby chiddler had been poorly and cried alot. He probably would have been happier spending the night with us , he loves us.

Anyhoo, she chucked us hay and gave quick kisses and off she popped.

A few hours later the hay was gone and we were grazing by the woods. Next thing Misty comes galloping towards us shouting come quick. So we all bogged off and up the field. Lo and behold there was TW and Boblet and the dawgs and new hay. We charged about a bit and then settled down to munch.

This morning TW was up at a decent enough time but she was super germed up so just chucked hay about a bit and we nommed and usual. Dilly made a run for the open stable so Misty kicked shit out of her. This resulted in Dilly running into the stable to escape the ninja shetland. She then wedges herself between the quads and the hay bales and random stuff and happily stood munching. In a teeny tiny spot. What a wierdo. TW had to chase Misty away from the door to let Dilly escape, with some encouragement.

In the evening TW reappeared as she has no car in the morning so thought we might want a bit of extra hay. That was very pleasant.  We shot across the field as soon as we saw Boblet and Lyra did a wee hooly bucking and farting and chasing the Pig.

TW had put the fence across so we could have hay by the water. No problem. I started grazing and so did Mikka ( who is in season btw and trying to distract me from my food) and the others waited patiently for new nets. Apart from Misty who sauntered under the fence and helped herself to hay from the stable. TW didnt bother making her go back, she accepts theres no point. Boblet gave Misty a scratch and a cuddle and said "leave her shes doing no harm". I swear I saw Misty wink and grin!!

Wierd

Another 50 bales of hay today - bonus. And it was dry but cloudy - no rain is always a good thing. TW popped us our hay down by the water today so she could fence us off to wait for the hay delivery. Lyra decided that there wasn't enough grub so snuck under the high fence followed by Misty and Bracken. That didn't go down well I can tell you.

Anyhoo today the message is mostly that people are wierd. TW was in a vile mood cos she was tired and germy and coming into season I reckon. The girls I live with dont get so mean when they are in season they are all flirty and squirty. The man next door came and shouted and swore at Boblet today because he parked his car on the mans grass verge to let the hay man get past. Boblet was very good and didn't swear back, TW just hid. Boblet was very very mad I reckon even though he didn't show it. TW just got sad about the way people behave.

People are very wierd.

silky

TW popped up twice today, we were waiting by the gate both times. She was so tired and busy she didn't even bother to put the hay in the nets - we just got it from the floor. Only I wanted the mycosorb stuff today, she commented on how silky soft my hair is feeling.

sunshine

The sun was shining nice and early this morning and my tummy was feeling a whole lot better. I had some yea sac again and some of the other mycosorb stuff. Misty had some too. She doesn't like being groomed sometimes like me.

Anyhoo we did the hay thing as usual and TW figured out cos she was up so early she had some time to hang around so thought we might have a little pootle togther. So she tied me to the wall, gave me a little brush and tacked me up. For some reason my girth wouldn't do up. How odd! But TW had a rummage and found the girth extender thingy and then we were good to go. She had an idea that we could try to get on the road today even though we havn't been past the haylage bales for ages. So like a good boy scout she put on her high viz and I had my proper bridle on just in case.

Normally she gets on behind the car cos sometimes I find it hard to go past it and past the wierd trailer thing. Today she was feeling brave and we got on in front of the car. No problem. Funnily enough my girth needed to go up a million holes when she got on...not sure why that was.

We walked straight past and onto the track. For some reason TW had decided that she could remember how to ride today. She patted me lots and did lots of deep breathing and made me stop and start and move left and right. Sometimes I got scared but she didn't worry and we kept on going. Near to the end I wanted to turn back but it was quiet so TW said we should go onto the road. So we did. Stopped to let a car past then popped into the drive down the road, turned round and came back. TW was very proud.

Back down the track and the wind was blowing. It sounded like the roof was going to blow off a shelter in the field next door. Normally that would have made her get off cos she was scared and I was scared. This time she turned me around and we went back up the track and she said if it was still noisy next time she would get off. it wasn't. So we stopped and started and backed up a bit until we were back at the start. I got lots of pats.

Back in the field she put my stuff away and then jumped over the fence. TW asked me for a kiss like we used to do. I gave a kiss and she skipped off all happy.

Marshmallow

Marshmallow is good for sore guts so they say. When TW arrived this morning there was a soggy bucket full of the stuff left on the yard. Gross. No-one wanted that crap. The mycosorb and yeast on the other hand is getting more popular, Brack had a sniff today but there wasn't much left.

Anyhoo, today was a quickish visit by TW. She hayed us up and my tummy was fine so that's good. Then she took Jez for a wee walk which took ages as Jez was back to being very cautious. TW was feeling very sad cos she says it feels like a long road to get us going again especially with her nerves. But hopefully she will come up with a plan. She even contemplated riding Brack again! Oh dear.

jealousy?

We had three visits from TW today which was mostly pleasant. One on her own, one with the dawgs and one with Boblet and the dawgs.

First visit we were waiting for the hay. I tried to help her climb over the gate but she wasn't so keen on that. It did make her laugh though. Better mood that yesterday. My tummy wasn't quite right cos I didn't like her touching my sides or grooming my right side so she set about rummaging. And found a nearly full tub of equishure. Result. But it tasted crap so I declined it. I did nom down some yea sac and some mycosorb stuff though. The yea-sac is tastier. She gave everyone a brush , apart from Misty who wasn't interested and mooched about a bit.

Then she took her hat and off she went. WTF? I was most confused. The bugger only went off and had a hack at some trekking place "to get her confidence back". Hmmmm. Not sure about that.

Anyhoo, a bit later on she reappeared with the dawgs and was very pleased with herself. Said she had a nice hack and did some cantering!  I ignored her and made me scratch me all over my neck and bum. My tummy not so much. Lyra tried to come over for a cuddle so I chased her off and Mikka too. Those arab girls were very proud of TW and eventually when I started to graze went over to her together to give her special kisses like they do. One on each hand like before. So I bundled in some more and got some more scratches.

She put hay out for us but we didn't notice and carried on grazing. At tea time she returned and this time shouted "DILLY THERES HAY" which is a sure fire way to get greedy Dill moving. In fact, Dilly was so greedy that while we all nomming the second half of our nets she decided to get herself into the stable. With all the hay. And the shed. And the quads. Nightmare she is sometimes! She managed to turn on a sixpence and shuffle out.

Mikka had her rug back on and so did Dilly and tbh my tummy was feeling better. TW put some marshmallow powder out but I don't think I'm so keen. I had a bit and pulled a face, so did Brack and so did Misty. Boblet was pleased TW had a nice hack but couldnt understand why she had to ride other ponies ( very good question!) so she said it was to help her nerves. Apparently she wasn't nervous at all riding the strange big mare.  Boblet doesn't get it. Not sure I do really either.

sun

Once again today we were grazing in the big field when TW arrived. She was very tired which is never a good sign. So tired that she had forgotten where her yard boots were so came up in her doc martens but fortunately found her wellies in the stable after she squelched through the mud soup. So even though it was sunny she was not full of the joys of spring. She hayed us up and had a quick chat with us all and took off the girls rugs. She's feeling sad about being too scared to ride again, but she's glad my tummies ok.

Bye bye track

When TW arrived this morning, we were all stood looking soggy and boggy by the gate. The weather is pish again. She said "shouldnt you all be grazing" but we pretended we hadn't heard her.

The hay came out but |I didn't move, I wasn't so hungry. The nets came out and eventually I came round to the door and made the others move so I could start nomming. TW noticed Lyra was a bit jumpy and couldn't understand why.

Anyhoo, she decided that cos it was so wet that she would shut the track off again until it's tried out. Then she saw what had happened. Broken electric stuff and poo in the middle of the track. "Pah!" she muttered and shut it all off, she said it was too crap to be sorting fencing. She filled the water and did the rest of the hay, gave us all a quick scratch and off she went. My tummies still fine btw.

She promised that the weather is going to be good this week....I hope so!

tracks increase exercise

Saturday today. TW was meant to be on a course and letting Boblet look after us. She didn't go, tired or something I think...

Anyhoo when she arrived with Boblet and the dawgs we were stood by the gate and she knew straight away something was wrong. My rug was all wonky and my leg straps were wierd. She came rushing in and tried to sort me out but I said I needed some hay to make my tummy better first. \So she opened the hay stable and I started nomming while she took off my rug. I'd got to warm in it and had rolled and rolled and got it all muddled up. Stupid rug. She then took the girls rugs off too. My tummy was a bit gurgly again so I had some yeast and so did Dill.

Next she put nets up and had a wrestle with Bracken again as he tried to stop her walking down the field with his net. She found bopping him on the bum with it worked quite well. Then she did some mucking out and sloped off for some breakfast.

It was a lovely sunny day today. No sooner had she gone she seemed to reappear, this time with just Boblet and the lunatic. They walked about a bit in the sun while we still nommed. When they came back Misty told TW that she wanted to go on the grass track. TW opened it and quick as you like Misty was in through the first paddock and into the second before TW could shut it off. We all followed super fast. Apart from Dildred who was nomming hay still. TW shook her head and her and Boblet set about taping round the second track. We galloped about and bucked a bit and eventually we were where we meant to be! TW was relieved.

Boblet said they might as well clear some rubbish as we had uncovered loads of crappy haylage wrappers left by naughty people. TW jumped on the back of his quadbike and off they went followed by Lunatic. I couldnt bleddy believe it! She's my person not Boblets!! I stood and stared and glared, I could tell she felt guitly. When they got to the rubbish she noticed that we were all running into the first paddock track which made her happy. Until she came back over and realised we had gone straight through the track fencing and were happy in the middle grazing!! Oops!!

TW was a bit sad and tired by now. She didn't know what to do. Lyra and Mikka could see she was sad and went up to her and gave her a kiss and said they would be good girls. So she opened another part of the fence and they stepped back on the track where they were meant to be. TW moved me next and then Jez. Brack moved himself to avoid being caught and then Misty followed. Phew! She was relived and so was Boblet who was getting a bit sick of fencing I reckon.

Off they went to get the battery and zappy thing and Dilly mooched down to see what was going on while we all grazed the nice track. Boblet put down the battery and had a cuddle with Dill and was confused when she stompled off. Then she started running down the track, TW was so pleased cos she wants the track to give us more exercise. But Dilly wasnt keen and just ran through the fence and into the middle! Oh bugger! I had to look the other way. Misty went running to see if she could get in too but they were too quick for her so she just galloped round - she likes the track. Boblet said bad stuff to Dilly when they got her out!!

Misty then started a stampede around the track , a super fast gallop. It was amazing! But at the bottom we split into two groups and went in opposite directions and when we met again at the top I thought TW was going to be sick cos me and Mikka ran into each other - her legs are not as chunky as mine!! We did some more galloping about and TW said she was shattered and going home for a nap. Oops!

After her nap she came back to check we were all ok. Me and Jez were back on the hay and the others were on the track. The weather was getting wild again so she rugged Mikka and Dill and took some pictures and buggered off again. She said she won't be back til tomorrow. I bet shes wondering if Dilly will go through the fence again now she has a rug on!!

Friday, 3 March 2017

growing

So TW had a treat this morning when she got to the yard....we were all grazing apart from Misty who was loitering with intent. Oh and apart from Jez but TW didn't realise that until she walked into the shelter and went face first into Belle's butt!! Oops!

While she was mooching about she got a bit confused so I went up behind her and gave her a nice kiss. She liked that.

Anyhoo she got the nets sorted and we nommed along nicely while the dawgs ran about. Bracky had his down away from the rest of us again. I forgot to mention yesterday that Brack has a good line in blocking TW when she's carrying hay nets. yesterday he had her stood for ages like a human hay ring while he scoffed his heart out - she couldnt move him and couldnt get past him. He's very skillful. Today he was a bit better behaved.

When the hay and water were sorted she told us it was going to be horrid weather and we could have rugs on if we liked. Mikka said yes please. I did to. The next rug in the pile was Dilly's and she said yes please aswell!! Ha! Mikka had a good sniff of her purple rug and Jez was a bit unsure whether she wanted one on too. So TW rummaged about and found a brand new red rug for Jez. She did not want it on!! Misty ran off from her rug and Lyra and Brack don't have them and tbh that would have been pointless trying.

Before we knew it she was off with the dawgs on her way to a training course. Weekend tomorrow!

breathe

TW was a bit sad when she arrived this morning. She had seen an old blog on facebook from 4 years ago when we had ridden on the busy 60mph road on our own and gone for a sunset hack. She wants to do that again. It was so windy that we just ate hay and had some cuddles and then she gave up and went home cos the rain started. We were all sharing nicely though so that pleased her.

Later on the sun was shining and TW re-appeared which was nice. Mikka and Misty and Bracky were snoozing and we were still picking at hay. TW said she would really like to have a little ride on me but I said I needed to doze instead. Jez said she would put her halter on but then she went to sleep too. TW got really sad.

So I got my tack on and out the gate we went and on she got. It was so bleddy windy. TW said I could graze which was nice and then we did some steps. I was spooky and looky. TW said we would just stand and breathe and graze and then walk some more. She sang to me which I like even though its crap.  I did my super alert giraffe impression and in the end she got off and we walked up and down the track together chatting. My tootsies are maybe a bit sore which isn't good.

Anyhoo back at the mounting block and TW got back on. I'm doing very well at standing nicely. The saddle thing slipped a bit and I wouldn't move. Finally!! TW realised that when i nap it's cos she's wonky and I'm scared she's going to fall off! She straightened up and off we went and then I did a ginormous spook. She's not scared of spooking at all it's wierd. She's scared of spinning and running but I don't think I've ever done that? That's Jezs trick. She jumped off and tried to see what had scared me. So I ran off towards it to show her, down the track that we've never been on before. It was quite good. I snorted and giraffed and snorted some more. Eventually we went back in the field and I nipped Lyra for being annoying.

Lyra and Mikka decided they needed lots of scratches and cuddles and Mikka got TW to take her rug off. Pair of attention seekers. I went back to sleep to dream of days when TW was brave.

Worry

The mornings are definitely getting lighter which is good news. The weather has not been good but I reckon the grass is growing. TW arrived early doors today and was shocked that we were not waiting for her!! She started doing the hay and noticed that the girls were creeping closer . No me though. TW shouted and shouted. And started to panic. And shouted some more. Eventually I crept from behind the shelter and mooched up for hay and a kiss.

TW relaxed and did some more nets. Then realised there was no Misty. She shouted and shouted and looked and shouted and panicked. Started walking down the field and could see the little one behind the shelter where I had been. Not moving. TW walked faster and shouted louder. Eventually Misty woke up and started walking up and TW breathed a big sigh of relief. Then we all nommed hay. TW noticed that my stomach and Mikka's were gurgling and gurgling away. Jez decided that she wasn't even that fussed about hay and started to doze. TW was very confused.

The weather forecast was meant to be bad today and TW worried about how we would cope. As the hours crept by the sun was still shining. She managed to finish work early and appeared back at the yard just before 6pm. It was still light!! She was so excited - wierdo. We were all grazing again though!

Dilly spied her first and was up on the hay nets before you could say greedy mare. The cheeky monkey was scoffing and looking over her shoulder checking we hadn't spied her!! TW shouted and eventually we came up and Dildred had to move! Ha!! We nommed some more hay and Jez and Dill shared some yeast cos I didn't want any. Bracky got his net away from the rest of us.

I've figured out that if I stand in a certain spot that TW can't see if she's locked up the hay stable. TW worried when she was in the shower before bed that she hadn't locked it up this evening. Oops!!

Buds

When TW arrived at the yard early doors she could only count 5 sleepy heads again. Mikka and Misty were snuggled up in the shelter nomming the ends of the hay. That made TW smile, she is glad they're buds cos they're both a bit socially awkward sometimes.

We had hay for tea last night so we weren't so hungry this morning. There was even some hay left in most of the nets. TW was pleased. But then she felt guilty because she knew that she wouldn't be coming up for tea today. My tummy still feels good which is a relief. TW filled the nets and water and stood with lyra while she had a super long drink.

And did I mention it was sunny and snowing first thing too? Wierd weather. Anyhoo, it then rained and rained and rained. Not impressed.

Monday, 27 February 2017

miserable mud

It's been raining. ALOT! When TW arrived we were all waiting at the gate. Mikka was dithering and I was tres grumpy. TW was not impressed by my grumpiness and shouted at me for swaping hay nets so much and making everyone else move. So I stomped off down to the lone hay net and totally blanked her when she tried to say sorry. Boblet taught me that trick. I did let her give me a kiss though and she checked my tummy. All good.

Mikka got put in the stable and dried off a bit with a fleece and then had her rug on. She;s going to be all floofy this year so she wont need rugs.

Anyhoo, the weather was wierd today. Wet. Cold. Sunny. Dry. Snowy. Just wierd. TW was a bit concerned about out tums so she came up after work (and it was still light!!). We were all grazing in the big field. TW popped up hay nets and shouted. And shouted. And put up more nets. And shouted. Eventually she sloped and slipped closer and we crept our way nearer. TW could tell there had obviously been something very scary going on near the stables so she gave me another nose kiss and i crept up behind her and followed her to the hay. The others followed closely. When we realised it was safe we nommed and nommed and TW slid off, filling her boots with muddy water as she went.

chilled beans

TW was late today. She was quietly confident that we would be grazing happily when she arrived. She was mistaken,  we were all stood round the gate staring at her when she drove up. A nice bit of guilt to add to her hangover / tiredness. Mikka shouted to her which made her feel nice, well actually she sort of shouted to TW but sort of shouted to Jez who was in the shelter eating hay that was left from yesterday. And pulling down the super big salt lick.

Anyhoo, she filled the haynets while Boblet filled the water and walked about with the doglets. Apart from the pig who mostly ran round our feet cos it was cold and windy and he didn't like it. Poor little Pig. 7 haynets for 7 ponies and a little pile for Misty. It takes us ages to sort ourselves out sometimes at hay time. Lots of swapping and changing about today so Lyra got TW to take the biggest net down the field just for her. Boblet commented on how much more chilled Mikka is now, she looks lovely and soft and shares her nets with everyone. Today we were all nice and democratic. TW hopes it continues.

Thank feck for shelters

So it's windy again. But strangely mild. TW came up early doors with the dawgs and for once we weren't hanging about the gate. Today we were clustered round the big shelter. TW did the obligatory head count and looked confused. And slightly panicked. Two missing.

"Mika....Mikka......MIKKAAAAAA". She shouts. Shouting Mikka is always a good bet as she tends to appear. The rest of us tend to hide when we hear her shouting for extra LOL's.

One ginge pops out of the shelter. Shortly followed by Lyra. TW laughed and laughed and laughed. Muttered something about silly lightweight arabs but was also very grateful for the kindness of me I'm sure. HA!

Anyhoo, she did the nets and slopped about in the mud for a while and then splodged off to the woods to chill for a bit. We were all a bit quiet today but all good. She gave us extra hay today as she might be later tomorrow. Nom. Not too late I hope!

Birthday again

It was a sunny day today. So sunny that the grass is starting to properly grow. Misty wasn't even bothered by TW arriving at the yard this morning and carried on grazing rather than rushing for hay unlike the rest of us. Although we were happy for the haynets tbh we weren't so massively fussed today either.

Today TW is 38, which is a decent enough age I reckon. She thought it was a good day for a teeny tiny ride. Dilly went first. Then TW and Jez did some meditating by the stables. Then me and TW had a ride up the track. That total contact saddle is very safe and comfy I reckon. Even when I did a big jump at Itsy nothing moved at all. TW was very impressed.

TW told Boblet that he needs to start being more positive about me as he get's me down. I agree!! He's never grumpy about Misty - he even put her a brush on the wall today so she can scratch herself on it ffs. Before they went, me Dilly and Jez shared the last of the dandelions and had some yea sac. Nom.

Doris

Today Doris came to visit. She was a big old bad ass storm. I think TW quite liked her.  In the morning when TW arrived we were all in the field cos it was blowing so much. I was a bit nervous of getting close to the stables but the girls marched on up so I followed. TW chucked a bit of hay out while she filled the nets but it just blew all over. Pointless. It was sort of funny watching TW stomping down the field with nets while the wind blew her backwards but like Jez said it makes you grateful to have her. Most of the time.

TW was mostly grateful for having land to ourselves cos she is finding some peeps mighty irritating at the moment. I gave her some big cuddles which cheered her up. She got some advice today about feeding us which made us all chuckle. She had to go and meditate a bit after that hahahah.

Anyhoo, we nommed and TW went off to face the storm elsewhere. Mid afternoon she came back and was shocked to see half eaten hay nets everywhere!! Sacrilege.  She battled the wind and stomped across the field and found us all grazing on the edge in the shelter. Apart from Dilly who was being a bit mardy. When we saw her I was confused, the girls were chuffed and took it as a sign to get back to the hay. We cavorted and wrestled and danced in the wind with the dawgs and TW enjoyed the energy. Apart from when Misty and Dilly galloped flat out at her and then the lunatic tried to chase their tails! The sun was shining and there were no fallen trees. Not a bad job.

The wind, the track and the Dill

Tw and the gang arrived a bit later this morning. We had waited for a while at the top and then wondered off back to graze and to shelter from the wind. TW was pleased, the grass is growing. She hayed us up and set about doing some jobs.

The reason for her being late up was soon apparent - 300 blue fence posts appeared. Jeez!! Everyone else carried on nomming but I got in a spot where I could spy her. She was only putting up a track in the two paddocks. Gah!! Mind you in the past when we've had a track we've also had loads and loads of hay so that might not be a bad thing....Boblet whacked out part of the fence to make a bigger gap for us to get through. I don't think we will have to go on it yet though. TW is worried about the grass in the paddocks cos she thinks its too rich so we are staying in the big field for a good while yet.

Anyhoo, we nommed hay and the wind blew a gale around us. We nommed fast again today. Me and Bee and Lyra took the big nets in the big field and the other girls all huddled round together nattering about stuff.

When it was nearly time to go Boblet said "can I show you something". TW's heart sank cos she knew it wasn't going to be a cream bun. Someone has managed to wreck the big metal gate into the field, most probably by kicking it. Boblet said "we know who's done that don't we" and they both turned round. Dilly didn't even try to deny it!! Jez gave them both some huge cuddles to try and distract them but Boblet said we had to have a strand of leccy tape fencing to protect the metal gate now until he can weld it up. Oops!

Apparently theres a big storm coming soon. I guess that means no riding again then!
